Itinerary
- 1Meet your guide at your hotel lobby and proceed to Entulang Iban’s longhouse. The iban’s people are the single largest tribe in Sarawak and they are traditionally live in longhouses which are actually a number of rooms linked together but sharing a common 'ruai' – a verandah where traditional ceremonies are performed in the olden days. Upon arrival at the Longhouse, the chief of the longhouse will invite you to tour around the longhouse and you'll see totem, carving, and another ethnic style stuffs. The ibans are famed as headhunters of Borneo and in some older longhouses, some skulls are still seen hanging along the ruai, you will also have a chance to try their famous rice wine known as 'tuak' which is locally brewed at your expenses. After the tour, we’ll transfer you back to your hotel.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SaraB730 contributionsTour doesn't exist, don't know why it's still listed online.Waste of time. This company didn't respond to my multiple attempts to contact them trying to confirm my tour/pick up. Finally got someone local to phone them and they said they don't do tours anymore. Don't bother booking, you'll just be wasting your time. Also tried to contact Viator to let them know and they basically told me I'm a liar and the operator is still doing the tour.Written 25 March 2024
- Trip673911316820 contributionsTour operator is closed.Terrible experience. Nobody came to pick us up for the tour. I called the tour operator and according to him they don't do tour for a long time. They told me to ask for refund instead. Such a bad experience. I've requested for a full refund.Written 22 December 2022
- Ruth M0 contributionsMulu Caves and PinnaclesFor the experience of a lifetime, you have to take the headhunter's trail to the Mulu Caves with Hadi and his incredible river navigators. After a very interactive longboat river ride, we hiked to the base camp (picture yourself in an episode of "Lost") for the World Heritage Pinnacles climb and then on the next day to the famous Mulu bat caves. There is so much to see on the trek from monkeys to snakes, giant bamboos to razor sharp rattan and everything in between! You are rewarded for your efforts with the mesmerising phenomenon of the mass exodus of millions of bats at sundown. You'll have an amazing sense of achievement when you lay your head on your pillow in the luxury of the rainforest Mulu Marriott for your final night's stay. Hadi is a hugely experienced guide whose passion and respect for the jungle is infectious and knowledge is impressive. He is also very patient and happy to answer all your questions. I couldn't recommend him highly enough!Written 12 November 2019
