Overview

If you’re looking for something different to do with kids in Shanghai—or just want to indulge your inner child—consider a visit to Zotter Chocolate Factory, an outpost of the Austrian brand. There, you’ll watch a film to learn how chocolate is made, see the factory in action, and enjoy all-you-can-eat chocolate tastings. Save time waiting in line by pre-booking your ticket online.

What to Expect

Make your way to the Zotter Chocolate Factory, where you’ll first watch a video to learn about chocolate production, starting with cacao growers. Then see the factory in action through large glass windows, following the journey from bean to bar.

Next, you’ll get to satisfy your sweet tooth on a tasting tour. Sample everything from freshly roasted cocoa beans to liquid nougat. You’ll play a “guess the aroma” game and taste how chocolate’s transforms as the cocoa content increase. See record players that have been adapted to produce round chocolate bars, and sip drinking chocolate served from a tiny cable car.

I've been on several chocolate factory tours - but they are nothing like the Zotter tour in Shanghai. I think tried upward of 50 kinds/combinations of chocolates. Adults and college kids had a ball. A little ways from city center (~30 minutes) but neat upcoming...More
