Overview

Eat like a local on this Shanghai late-night food tour, visiting off-the-path eateries, street barbecues, and a night market. Let your guide handle navigation as you sample more than 20 street-food bites—enough for dinner. Dishes you’ll likely taste: soup dumplings, lamb skewers, and boiled crayfish, washed down by local craft beer. Your guide will also tell you about the food, history, and culture of the former French Concession.

What to Expect
Greet your guide and group at a former French Concession subway station, and stroll towards the Xintiandi area. Your first stop will be a Uyghur restaurant for hand-pulled noodles, followed by a local eatery for the essential “xiaolongbao” soup dumplings.

Continue to Zhaozhou Road street food bazaar, frequented by Anthony Bourdain, and see the border where French-style apartments give way to old stone “shikumen” houses. Try local dishes at three separate eateries as you learn how locals live and eat.

Along the way, cleanse your palate with craft beer and enjoy your guide’s insights into Shanghai’s foodie culture and traditions. Your tour will finish in the former French Concession: Just ask your guide if you need directions to the subway or a taxi.

Late Night Food Tour

A great experience. The guide was completely fluent in English and was able to explain many things to us. We went to places that we would never have found on our own. Definitely recommended!

Jim was great

It was amazing! Jim was awesome! We had tons of fun! Tea house was by far our favorite stop. Also what blew us away, was Jim's Passion for old traditions, history and philosophy of Shanghai.

Simply the best guided tour we've ever been on!!!

We are avid travelers (visited 28 countries in the last 15 years... and counting) and usually don't expect much from guided tours... you know, the usual touristy places and things and nothing more. This one, however, blew us away!!! It was by far the best...More
