This was an amazing tour. It was 15 hours long so I anticipated it being a really long day. We got on the van and they took us to breakfast, got to stop at Lake Nicaragua where we did a boat tour, saw monkeys and plenty of local houses on little islands. Unfortunately is was cloudy and raining a little bit so we didn't enjoy that ride as much as if the weather had been better. Got to have a local lunch, did a horse drawn carriage ride in Granada, chocolate tour, cigar tour and then shopping and enjoying some views of the lake, and volcanos. Our tour guide was extremely helpful with guiding us through the border/customs and with his knowledge. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this trip.

The tour guide in Niccarauga was very knowledge and fun to be with. We saw so many great areas of the country - the volcano national park was my favourite. I definitely would recommend this tour with Native Way.

It was a LONG day, but we had a great time! I may have even liked Nicaragua more than our time in Costa Rica. Our favorite part was the lava and water volcanoes.

Well organized and great tour if you want to get a little taste of Nicaragua. It was a fun day with quick stops around Granada, Masaya, Lake Nicaragua and couple small towns. The tour made me want to visit Nicaragua again for a longer period, because it is a beautiful country! Recommend if you’re in Costa Rica and want to check off another country from your list.

10 Star Review! As a solo traveler I felt completely safe throughout the trip. A driver picked me up and dropped me off right from my resort, Villas Sol. It's a long day, but it's completely worth the experience. You receive 2 delicious meals, 1 boat ride, feed a monkey on Monkey Island, shop in a small village, and see all the beautiful views of Northern Nicaragua. I highly recommend taking the horse and carriage ride offered by a local company and a (very) small charge. With that added a tour of the city, stopping to watch cigars being rolled and a chocolate tour. Wow. You won't regret this trip to Nicaragua.

Our guide Gaspar (sp?) was exceptional. He was full of facts, history and general knowledge. It was a cold and rainy day but he managed to make it a great tour nonetheless. We saw the volcano crater, Grenada and other sites but just spending time getting to know him and life in Nicaragua was the best part.
FYI: you are driven to the border and met by a guide on the other side. This was not explained to us and there was some panic when our driver drove off, leaving us on the Nicaragua side. Gaspar quickly waved us over and all was explained to us then.

A fantastic day out, very well co-ordinated by Native’s Way in Tamarindo. From our hotel pick -up,the border crossing requirements and designated stopping points the day was one to remember.
Very professional drivers(Jose and Oswaldo) made us feel safe as they took us on our journey. Our highly knowledgable guide (David) was keen and willing to share his expertise as he gave clear and informative information about the locations we visited in Nicaragua and readily answered any questions put to him. Active and dormant volcanoes,a sail to feed spider monkeys, optional carriage ride around Granada(small charge),quick visit to local chocolate factory and some free time at a local market to purchase souvenirs. Breakfast and lunch of Nicaraguan foods also went down well. Sure it’s an early start, sure it’ a long day…. just embrace it and enjoy the experiance.

Native's Way Costa Rica is a very good company, I highly recommend. They are very professional, friendly, on time. Their shuttles are comfortable and safe, good drivers and guides.
The tour to Nicaragua is amazing! It's a very long day, but worth it, since you have the chance to see a lot in one day (2 volcanos, a boat tour, visit of the city of Granada and the chocolate museum, artisans market, good food at 2 restaurants). They take in charge everything to cross the border. The guide is Nicaraguense and knows his country and is very happy to welcome tourists.
Book directly on their own Website, better price than other websites.

I see you pass through Playa Hermosa. Would you be able to pick up/drop off from Hotel Bosque Del Mar?
Hi I am interested in their tour but am currently in Tambor. Is there any possibility to pick me up from there? What about the border crossing? Is it like a normal border crossing so I get an entry and exit stamp?

The post says, there is a PCR test required to go to Nicaragua. I see the last update was last year (2021). Is it still required? If so, does your company or do you know where to test for it. We will be near Guanacaste in June this year. Thank you in advance for your response
