Our trip was in February during the dry season, so the rapids were mild not wild, manageable for first timers. The guides were fun and informative, appropriately concerned about safety, and gave good instructions. We lucked out and had Erik as our guide! He was friendly and entertaining; he is usually the kayaker. The scenery along the river is beautiful. The ride was mostly relaxing with blips of excitement as you traverse the rapids. Tucanes was prompt and communicative. They picked us up at our hotel and retrieved other guests on the way as well. The ride to and from the river was long, approximately 2 hours each way. Snacks were fresh fruits, water and ice tea. The lunch was fresh and delicious. I would like to do the tour again when rapids are a bit more challenging! Tuncanes Tours does a great job. Pura Vida! 🤟

My family and I had such a great experience River Rafting with Nicolas as our guide. We didn’t feel unsafe at any point while going down the river, even though we were all inexperienced. The food was also amazing, try the plantains and rice!

Very nice float trip. Our guides were friendly, helpful and informative. Only caveat was low water made the trip pretty tame. Visited in mid January, beginning if dry season.

This trip was amazing well worth the money. Our pick up team George and Mono were great. They were followed by more great guides. Orlando was personable and an expert in rafting. He made our trip smooth and fun even with our kids 13 &14. They were knowledgeable about animals, plants and the river. We were beyond happy with the experience they all provided and it's a locally owned business. This is a great trip to take for the whole family. Best river rafting in Costa Rica.

From pick up to drop off everything was great. We had a four person raft for the two of us and Marcos our guide. Jonathan was the safety and line spotter in a forward kayak. The drive up to the put in was a one hour trip with lots to see in the jungle. Marcos lives up the road so he said hello to many friends. We were given a good safety lesson and put in easily. We quickly hit Class 3 water and continued to enjoy many rapids for almost two hours, stopping for a short walk to a large waterfall. Marcos gave us clear instructions when to paddle and made the trip fun and very wet! They gave us fruit after, then the ride back to the office and a tasty casado lunch. The weather was wonderful. I would do this again! Definitely take extra dry clothes for after. You will be soaked.

Orlando, Miguel and Antonio are amazing guides and hosts. Mario top! We learned so much about the countryside on the ride up and had an absolute blast on the river. Food was amazing- definitely worth doing. The views are breathtaking and the river is fun and safe- at least when the water is low.

Booked a trip through Costa Rica Holiday Rentals for a 7 AM pick-up......waited until 7:30 and called....no answer....... 8 AM security at our condo found the manager's phone #......apparently our p/u was missed......no call or e-mail. Offered us a 1/2 day tour for same price........then $55 off of a $380 total. Opted for a full refund instead.

Justin was our guide on the raft and we had a marvelous time. The staff provided a nice breakfast before our trip to the beginning of the raft trip, a snack of fruit and juice at the conclusion and a great lunch after the trip back. I will say the hot lunch of chicken and rice prepared in such a way exceeded expectations.
The river was low and so the rapids for the most part were class 1.5 to class 2.5. A description would not be complete without mentioning the beauty and the lush vegetation and ecosystem surrounding the river. However, it was white water most of the way. In the first third of the trip, there was an area where we were encouraged to jump in the water and swim with the current. The water was extremely comfortable. Near the end, there was a quarter mile walk to a great waterfall. On a 90 degree day, it was great to put your head under waterfall.
I will add it would be a difficult trip without water shoes. Water shoes are also helpful for the 200 yard or so walk at the conclusion of the raft trip to the truck.
Also, on a trip like this DON'T FORGET SUN SCREEN.
Staff worked hard and I recommend the trip. Full disclosure on travel: 75 minutes from our hotel in Los Suenos to the "meeting place near Quopos; 1:45 to the raft site; a 10 KM raft ride, then an hour from the end of the raft site to the "meeting place" (breakfast and lunch) and the back to Los Suenos.
Again, for us the trip was great and I recommend it.
