Overview
Benefit from a walking tour of San Jose led by a local guide who shares the highlights of Costa Rica’s capital. Taste popular foods while exploring the maze of stalls at the historic Central Market, lunch on traditional fare at a historic inn, and sample fresh baked goods, coffee, and ‘chicha’ (traditional drink). Then stroll in a tree-lined park and visit the workshop of a third-generation mask artist.

  • This is a child-friendly tour. Children between the ages of 6 and 11 inclusively are permitted on this tour at the rate listed above. Please select ‘child’ above when booking. Children under the age of 6 are permitted to join this tour free of charge. Please inform us at the time of booking if you’ll be bringing a child under the age of 6.   • The temperature drops in the late afternoon, so please bring light jackets and/or long sleeved shirts.
  • For your Urban Adventure you will be in a small group of a maximum of 12 people.

  • In Escazu, you will learn about local folklore and meet with local artisans, giving you a look into local culture that you might not get on your own.
  • You will visit a a legendary masquerade family where three generations have been making some of the country’s most beautiful masks for celebrations and special holidays. By participating in this tour, you are helping to preserve local cultural heritage and traditions.
  • This tour will take you to locally-owned, traditional restaurants, where you will try a range of local produce and organic coffee.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travellers

My tour got canceled because the owner of the masquerade was on vacation. I contacted the tour company more than 5 times to ask for the refund, but they never give my money back. So irresponsible. DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR.
