Day Trip to Uyuni Salt Flats
US$99.00
Overview
Explore the Uyuni salt flats on a 4WD tour that covers some of the city’s highlights, from a graveyard of rusting trains to an island filled with giant cactus and rock formations. This Uyuni tour includes lunch inside a hotel made entirely from salt, with stops to check out geometric salt patterns and take classic perspective photos above the massive salt flats.
What to Expect
Meet a driver for a morning departure and then set out across the Uyuni salt flats in a 4WD vehicle. The first stop of the day is the Uyuni train graveyard, where Bolivia’s first trains are rusting into a surreal landmark. You'll also see a salt miners’ workshop in Colchani.

Continue onto the salt flat itself, passing salt mining operations and the “eyes of the salt” on your way to a fascinating salt hotel. Tour the rooms, see salt sculptures, and pause for an included lunch in the hotel.

From there, head to Inca Wasy Island to see cactus, rock formations, and petrified coral, stopping to take plenty of classic Uyuni perspective photos. After checking out the towering Thunapa Volcano, begin the return trip to Uyuni. If time and weather conditions allow, you might catch an Uyuni salt flats sunset before the end of the day.

Interesting and worth the money

Wouldn't book with anyone else - we went on a day trip and had recommendations from trip advisor. Went to 4 different destinations and the English speaking guide was great. We got lunch and a good amount of time in each location.
