South American razzle

If you can't have a soft sport for your host Mirka, then there is something wrong with you. Full of passion and love for her City, we were sold immediately. So much so, we visited 3 of her recommendations last night - Wet Willie's and call me a cab frozen cocktail; Mango's tropical cafe (absolute madness in here) and finally Kush at the Cleveland - a $20 burger sounds excessive but its the best burger I've had in a long, long time. Vamos Argentina Mirka.

Great food and art deco tour in South Beach!

We were in Miami one day before embarking on a cruise and decided to take the South Beach Cultural Food and Walking Tour, and are happy we did. We had a great tour guide, Dubcy was knowledgeable, friendly and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. It was a small group, and Dubcy did an excellent job interacting with everyone and creating interaction between the group. Lots of great people watching in South Beach, and enjoyed learning about the history of Art Deco and the growth and revitalization of South Beach. The food portion of the tour was very good, with several stops to enjoy flavors typical of the area, to include Columbian, Cuban, Mexican, Italian. Everything was great; we particularly enjoyed the ceviche at first stop (Bolivar). The tour was well organized, with good communication, and a nice way to spend a few hours exploring Miami.

Architecture Great; Food Mediocre

Helena, our guide, was top notch. She showed us the highlights of the art deco buildings, pointed out the interesting architectural details, and gave us just enough information without being boring. She seemed to truly enjoy being a tour guide.
The architectural part of the tour is why we gave it 4*.
The food part of the tour merited only 3*, in our opinion. The ceviche at Bolivar was excellent. The food at the other venues was disappointing, and overall, mediocre.
One suggestion might be to pick a good Latin restaurant and have the entire lunch there. Maybe give us options ahead of time. We realize with a group it wouldn’t be realistic to let everyone order on the spot.
In our opinion, the food offerings weren’t worth the $69 pp we paid for the tour.
In hindsight, we wish we had booked just a walking tour of the district and chosen a restaurant on our own.

Art Deco and food walking tour

We did Art Deco/South Beach and food tour. Helena, the guide, knew the history of Miami and art deco. She pointed out various styles of buildings, the time frame they were built, interesting facts about several. Stopped at 3 different ethnic restaurants plus a bakery. Restaurant portions were good size, individual appetizer.

Robyn’s Fantastic Tour of South Beach

The South Beach Cultural Food and Walking Tour was such a unique and special experience. Robyn did such an amazing job and exceeded all our expectations. She did a fantastic job going through the history of Miami Beach in a fun, and interactive way, and took us to all the best places to truly taste the culture of the city. We would highly recommend her tour of South Beach to anyone wanting to visit and be immersed in the food, drinks, culture and history of Miami Beach. Thank you Robyn for such a memorable experience!

The food was amazing and I learned so many things about South Beach!

The food was amazing and each stop was well prepared for our visit. I thought we might be having just a few bites at each place but in every one of the four restaurants visited there was a substantial portion of different types of cuisines making a great meal! Rea introduced our group to the many cultures making up Miami Beach while explaining the history of Art Deco along with showing us many hotels, inside and out, along the way. She did an especially good job of telling us about many famous and notorious characters that have graced the area for the last century.

Excellent Tour!

We had an excellent tour with Ria. She has just the right combination of knowledge and enthusiasm, both for the food and the architecture. She obviously loves doing these tours. She pointed out many interesting details about the Art Deco buildings; it was educational and fun. The food at each stop was delicious and plentiful. The restaurants were prepared for us to arrive, so we didn't have to wait long to get our tastings. We highly recommend this tour!

Even my kids loved this culinary adventure!

With a full day available before a flight I went in search of a tour for my family (including two daughters ages 9 and 13).
The tour organizer was prompt and friendly in responding to my request and helping me to book the tour.
Our guide Ria was phenomenal. So engaging and friendly, she combined the tour with lots of great information about the art deco movement in south beach and helped us to appreciate it too.
And the food…wonderful! My kids both loved the Cuban food and the Colombian. (So did my husband and I). And I really loved getting them to try new foods! Both commented during and after the tour that they really enjoyed it.
I highly recommend!! And I’ll be doing this in other cities I visit from now on!

South Beach Food and Culture Tour

Lana was such a great tour guide and very friendly, upbeat and knowledgable. The tour provided more food than I was expecting which was great. We had empanadas, ceviche, a beef dish called ropa vieja with plantains, an italian bakery sandwich and gelato. All the food was delicious. We got to see some art deco buildings and hear a little bit about Miami's history. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a taste of the art and culture without sacrificing an entire day.

Good food on foot

My wife, friends and I had a great time on this trip. We got to sample food from four different cultures and learn some history of Miami Beach, from the 1920s ‘til now. The balance between walking and eating was perfect—we only tried small amounts of food, but by the end we were pretty full. I’d recommend it as a good way to see the city and learn a little more than you’d get if you’ve never been to Miami Beach (or only been to the beach!).
