My daughter and I really enjoyed the trip. She has been dreaming of going to California for years and this was a great way to get a small glimpse of it while we were in Vegas. Our tour guides were Eli and Art. Eli provided a lot of information and history along the way. Art was very courteous. My only wish was that they were a little more personable with us. Would have made the long trip a little more exciting. As for the sights and hospitality, they were as we expected. The van was spacious and comfy (only issue was our seat belts were rather tight and uncomfortable at times), plenty of snacks and drinks, many pit stops going to California and coming back. We had an hour and 15 minutes at Santa Monica Pier which was plenty of time to put our feet in the Pacific Ocean, walk the Pier and ride the roller coaster. Next was our boxed lunch which we ate in the van as we drove to our next destination. We drove along Rodeo Drive, stopped at the Beverly Hills sign and then to Hollywood. We had about 2 hours to take in all the sights. The stars on the Walk of Fame, handprints at the Chinese Theater, walked around inside the Dolby Theater and viewed the Hollywood sign. All in all it was a great trio and I'm glad my daughter and I did it.

First time to California the sites were exciting. The drivers that were the orators did an excellent job with the history, the sites, and making it come alive. They were hospitable and friendly. Snacks and food is really nice.

I always thought I wanted to visit Beverly Hills and see the Hollywood sign. I loved tipping my toes into the Pacific Ocean. We had a very long and busy day. It was nice to see the Stars on the walk of fame. Our guides provided snacks and drinks throughout the day and gave plenty of restroom stops.Be prepared for a long trip but it is worth it.

We recently took the VIP tour from Las Vegas to Hollywood and Los Angeles. This tour took us through Death Valley and Joshua Forrest. Our tour guide Clayton shared so much information as we rode through the area. We arrived in Los Angles for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We were given plenty of time to explore. Adventure Photo Tours and our tour guide, Clayton, provided everything it advertises. We were very pleased with our experience and I must say the lunch was yummy. We recommend this tour.

Hi Diana,
Thank you for the wonderful review. The scenery on the way to LA is magnificent, the southern geographical tip of Death Valley, the stunning Dry lakes and Joshua Tree Forest are worth the trip by themselves. Most people don't realize how beautiful the high desert is between Las Vegas and LA. Then of course Santa Monica Beach and Hollywood Blvd, fabulous! It's one of our favorite tours.

Lots of time on Santa Monica beach and also in Hollywood along the Walk of Fame. Long time in van to and from destination but perfect frequency of stops. Water and juice aboard and good selection of snacks to munch. Good trip and both drivers were excellent. Glad they each had time to rest.

The trip was good. Drivers Jose and Greg did an amazing job. I was under the impression that we we're going to get a bit closer to the Hollywood sign but we did not. The trip back to Vegas ended up being almost 10 hrs due to a truck collision which had us in traffic for at least 6hrs. These gentlemen were exceptional.
Overall the trip was very good.

After reading the last review I totally agree with Abigail W's comments. Firstly Adventure Tours state in their advertising that you travel the very long 5 hour journey by VIP coach, really? Would not consider the coach to be VIP at all in fact it was very poor compared to what I understand as VIP coaches. Not happy that I had to sit next to the driver as no room to sit with my husband but can I suppose understand that however expected it to be a comfortable journey with nice seating etc. My video didn't work so it became exceptionally boring more so on the journey back as had seen the scenery in the day light on the way to Hollywood. Please be aware and know that this is not the fault of the tour but you can be stuck for some time in traffic which adds time to the journey let alone frustration. Became very fidgety and was so relieved to reach Hollywood however was it worth it - no!
To drive past the gates of Warner Bros and Disney Studios is hardly worth the 5 hour journey. How about a tour of one of these studios, seeing the gates to their entrances hardly rocked our boat. Dropped off by Hollywood Blvd for 2 hours. Went into Rosevalt Hotel as told they had the cleanest toilets which turned out to be true. Place was empty but Marilyn Monroe did reside there for 2 years or so we were told by the driver/tour guide Bob. Our initial reaction to the place was disdain, what a dump and although we'd been hyped up that we could perhaps see a celebrity what celebrity in their right mind would want to walk down there unless for a film premier or award ceremony when the crowds are controlled for them. Was glad to get back to the basic coach after being jostled and harassed by the numerous street vendors and ticket touts. No did not want to visit the wax museum as this has been done before in London so searched for more interesting things to see/do but to no avail. Most of the photos I managed to get on the Hollywood walk of fame had unknown tourist people's feet all over them, gave up in the end.
Was not interested in browsing round the tacky gift shops and in fact was not interested in doing any shopping as my expectations was higher than that, can shop anytime.
Understand that the tour can no longer get up and closer to the Hollywood sign but explain that to see the sign (which is a dot in the distance) you have to have a really good lens on your camera which can zoom in. The bridge you see it from is miles away from the sign.
To finish off the tour stopped for a few minutes outside a music store where there are plaques of famous musicians so instead of hands and feet you have faces. Not really impressed. Then we passed some hotel where a female musician died from an overdose (must admit by then had clicked off) and some church which can't even remember the connection to anything. Blink and you'll miss most of it.
Yes snacks and water was provided such as a small pack of nuts and some sort of cake for breakfast and the sandwich for lunch was better however am sure this is reflected and charged within the price so no favours there.
To say this tour was a waste of money AND the time I lost and will never get back is an understatement. The only thing I can say is I've been to Hollywood with no intention of ever returning but am sure there are better things to do and see in and around LA.. The only suggestion I can give is to scrap this tour altogether or look again at your sights to visit. This was a once in a lifetime holiday to Las Vegas and combining it with visiting another State was appealing but not the Hollywood Tour. Trust me the majority on the coach felt the same.

In the morning of our trip our collection was 35 minutes late. I called the office and was told a call had been made to our room - not received. It’s a very early wake up call and this was time wasted from our trip. We knew the travel time would be long and this was in no way a problem for us. Our guide Randy was full of useful information en-route to LA. What we found disappointing was once in Hollywood we were just left to our own devices and told to be back at the bus in 3 hours. We spent most of this time walking trying to get a good photo of the Hollywood sign which we didn’t manage. I guess we had hoped to drive by most of the tourist sites. In hindsight if we had realised the itinerary we would have hopped on a tour bus. This I find ironic given we had paid so much money for the trip on a bus.

First the positives: I appreciated the text received the day prior to the tour confirming the exact pick-up time and location and our tour guide/driver Dennis arrived on-time. That is about it as far as the positives go. From here, it went all down-hill.
When Dennis arrived we were quite surprised that we were being picked up for a 5-hour commute (each way) in a shuttle van and not a motor coach. This van had two rows of bench seats and we were all crammed in, without anyplace to put our "things" such as bottles of water, or food, or coat (we visited in January) or a woman's purse. No storage at all.
Upon arrival in Santa Monica, CA we were given ONE HOUR total to spend on the pier. Hardly enough time to sit down and have a drink and do a little sightseeing. Then upon returning to the van we were given a boxed lunch containing sandwiches, cookies, chips and water where we noticed our order may have been incorrect, and when I mentioned this to the driver Dennis, he shrugged it off and said "Well, this is what was ordered". No apologies for any type of miscommunication or anything. Then we were crammed back in the van trying to eat this lunch with absolutely no place to put anything down for another couple hours to Los Angeles.
We drove right past the Beverly Hills sign, where there is a beautiful tree that could have been included as a stop. But we kept going .... straight past Rodeo Drive right to the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. When we arrived we were told we would be there for approximately 2 hours .... to take pictures of the Hollywood sign that is about 30 miles away and almost microscopic to see (so have a good camera with you).... which takes all of 5 minutes to do and there is NOTHING ELSE to do there unless you want to spend money for souvenirs. This extra time could have been well spent seeing other areas within the area. Then we were back in the van for a 5-hour return trip.
Our driver Dennis was not very personable and questions he couldn't answer were simply shrugged off with a snide remark. He also couldn't regulate the temperature in the van - it was either too cold or too hot. He would turn the temperature dial from 64 to 78 .... but nothing in between.
In summary, I would not recommend this trip to anyone looking to see California. You will not really have the experience you think you are going to get. Would rate zero stars, but the minimum is 1.

Is there photo ops for the Hollywood sign and if so how far away are you from it???
Ive heard that some tours do the Lake Hollywood Park which is supposedly the closest you can get to the sign..
Thanks
