Overview
Leave the bustle of Las Vegas behind for a full-day kayak trip through the Black Canyon on the Colorado River. Perfect for paddlers of all skill levels, this trip covers several miles of calm water near Hoover Dam, with stops to explore caves, beaches, hot springs and canyons. Throughout the day, your experienced guide points out wildlife, historical sites, hidden inlets and beautiful hikes along the river. Kayaking equipment, instruction, and lunch are included; you just need to bring your personal gear (think cameras and hats) for a great day on the water!
Highlights
  • Kayak the Black Canyon section of the Colorado River with a guide
  • Ideal for all experience levels—including beginners
  • All kayaking equipment, lunch, snacks, and bottled water are provided
  • Hassle-free round-trip transport from select Las Vegas hotels
What to Expect
Start your tour with early morning pickup from select Las Vegas hotels in an air-conditioned vehicle for a short drive to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Meet your guide and head to the kayak launching point on the riverbank below Hoover Dam. After a short safety briefing, hop in your kayak and paddle downstream along the Black Canyon section of the Colorado River. Stop at Sauna Cave, where you can choose between two short guided hikes or opt to wait for your group on the riverbank. The easy trails lead to hot springs where you can swim. Kayak for several more miles, and then stop for lunch on a secluded riverside beach. After a final stop at Emerald Cave, finish your paddling trip on the Arizona side of the river at Willow Beach. Your tour ends with hotel drop-off in Las Vegas.
