HOT day in Death Valley- Amazing Experience!
Jul 2021
I recently went on two tours with Bindlestiff Tours- the 7 day Yellowstone Rocky Mountain tour (see separate review) and this one. Both were amazing. This is a top notch company with fantastic guides. Great customer service team- just great all round. Death Valley was HOT! our guide Khriss was exceptionally knowledge and kept us well entertained and well hydrated throughout the day. Good boxed lunch and adequate time at all the stops.

Great trip with Joel.

Amazing trip with Joel.
Everything well planned and executed. Brand new car. Perfect driving.
Besides the great outdoors, Joel's storytelling talents were _the_ highlight of the trip. His knowledge on geography, geology and history of the Death Valley is astounding.
I can understand that one can read a lot. But how he remembers all of it?
Each of his stories is a material for an Oscar-quality movie screenplay.
Some material based on Dante Alighieri :)

Spectacular Private 1-Day Death Valley Tour
Apr 2021
I decided last minute to book a one-day Death Valley tour for my elderly parents, my two younger children (11 and 9 YOs) and myself. As I had never booked a guided tour before, I read all the reviews of the various tour groups, but ultimately chose Bindlestiff Tours because of the private tour option for our family group of five and great reviews of their guides, which I realized would be the critical component in whether an 8-10 hour tour would be a fun and memorable trip (or a miserable one). This tour was the best decision I made for our vacation! Tour reps were considerate in selecting the right vehicle for our group (a comfortable minivan), finalizing the details, answering my many questions and accommodating some itinerary-related requests based upon what I read in the reviews. Joel Clark was our guide, and after our trip, I understood why a rep told me Joel is aka “Mr. Awesome.” As far as tour guides go, Joel's knowledge of the area was seemingly endless, answering all kinds of questions and imparting a wealth of information. When experiencing such breathtaking and awe-inspiring sights, your mind wanders to all kinds of topics, of which Joel was happy to participate in our eclectic discussions, even when I had to have him pause so that I could translate some things for my parents. Lunch was indeed delicious, as many commented in their reviews, and there was more than enough water provided for our group. We all will never forget the wonderful sights we saw that day. I hope to have another opportunity to seek out other adventures with this tour group!

Amazing Private National Park Tour from start to finish!
Apr 2021 • Solo
A very high quality tour company. Having been recommended by friends I decided to take my family on Bindlestiff Tours private Death Valley day tour from Las Vegas. Bindlestiff Tours responded promptly to all of my questions, booking process was smooth - I booked directly with them. Pick up was on time and in a spacious touring vehicle - looked brand new! Our Tour Guide Joel was phenomenal. A walking encyclopedia. Joel made the tour fun and exciting for our two children. We learned alot, had a blast and enjoyed a lovely boxed lunch at the visitor center. Death Valley itself is a fascinating place and we thoroughly enjoyed our day out. Highly recommend this tour company.

Joel was not the friendliest tour guide. Very boring ! And they cut about 10-15 min on each stop and skipped one. They say they gps track the tour but we completely skipped a stop so I’m not sure they actually do. Forget it if you have a dietary restriction bc they will completely screw up.
You can tell when a company doesn’t even try when the item they buy you for lunch is a small side and in big letters states the allergy you clarified you couldn’t eat but they still get that for you. Tour guide was nice enough to buy some chips at the gas station how nice that’s what my lunch a bag of chips and an apple

This guest attempted to obtain a refund by claiming that she was not picked up for the tour. This proved unsuccessful when we provided a copy of the waiver that she signed upon joining the tour. She has now proceeded to post multiple reviews under different user names and has been reported to Trip Advisor. Our prior response to Ingrid is pasted below along with a Trip Advisor review from a gentleman called Adam who was on this tour with Ingrid. Dear Ingrid, We are sorry that you found the guide commentary boring. We are known for our expert guides and their passion for giving detailed area information and entertaining stories. It's what's expected on a 'guided tour'. All of our vehicles are geo tracked so we are unsure as to what you mean by a missed stop. Zabriskie Point and 20 mules team canyon are both viewed from the same place and we show that the tour stopped there as advertised, as with all the other stops. We talked with our guide about the lunch options and you were given exactly what you ordered for lunch- a vegetarian boxed lunch and a vegan salad with extra fruit and extra potato chips. We are sorry that you felt this was inadequate but I can assure you that you got exactly what you ordered. Reviewed by L9664WNadamm Mar 28, 2021 ________________________________________ Death Valley from Las Vegas 5 STARS This tour of Death Valley is a must. Our tour guide, Joel, was exceptional in all aspects. From the time of pickup all the way through the tour, Joel did an excellent job sharing history of Death Valley. I learned far more than expected. At all times, Joel encouraged guests to ask questions and share experiences they've had. My 2 favorite points were Dante's Viewpoint and the Devil's Golf Course. Both were super unique and had an "other-than-earthly" feel to them. I really enjoyed Badwater Basin as well. There were several other stops to include going past ghost towns and abandoned mines. This tour was so good I'm definitely up for taking friends or family on this exact tour with Joel and Bindlestiff Tours in the future. This is highly recommend.

A Wonderful Adventure
Sep 2020
Who knew this was so close? Not me. If it were not for the pandemic shut down I probably still would not. I am so glad we went on this day trip. Rachel, our guide, really knew LasVegas history and kept you interested during the drive with facts you never knew. She packed a nice lunch and knew all the rest stops. The park is literally stunning. One of these days, I would love to go back when it is in bloom. But, the colors in the hills you will not likely see anywhere else. And, the salt flat was amazing. Don't try do drive this yourself. It is very remote and someone who knows what they are doing will. make the trip so much more relaxed. I highly recommend this very professional company. Their staff's main goal is to make sure you have a great time...and it sure was.

Exceptional tour
I had one of the best vacation days ever on our day trip to Death Valley. I’ve never seen the American southwest so this was all new and amazing to me. The pickup was prompt, van comfortable, and drive smooth. Joel was our guide and he was great. I really appreciated the commentary about the history of the area, geology, stories, and even a little poetry. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. You will learn so much more than driving yourself. We stopped at many key places and had enough time to get a feel of the place. Even just driving through was gorgeous. It was enough to make me want to bring my whole family back for a more in depth trip. I highly recommend!

Great tour but longer time visit is preferred.
Dec 2019 • Friends
What I like the most about Bindlestiff is their excellent communication with the customer prior to the tour. There were at least two confirmation e-mails and one reminder sent to me about pickup arrangement and tour schedule.
On the d-day, the pickup was easy and on-time and the driver Joe was very enthusiastic. The weather going to and during the visit at Death Valley was sunny and warm. Nevertheless, we were warned previously that the visit to Dante's view was canceled due to the untimely road closure (because of snow piles / possible black ice). The drive to Death Valley was pleasant (comfy and well conditioned van) and Joe made at least one restroom stop at Pahrump, NV. Throughout the day we managed to visit: Death Valley sign, Zabriskie point, Furnace Creek (visitor center), Badwater Basin, Devils Golf Course and Artists' Palette. Roast beef/turkey sandwiches as well as bottled water were available for lunch at Furnace Creek.
The thing, however, that I had very minor issue with was the duration of visit, particularly at Badwater Basin. The site was really expansive and in order to get to the white salt flats one had to walk for about 25-30 minutes from the parking lot. We were only given 30 minutes to visit and so we ended up only walking halfway before we made our way back, half-running, to the van.
While the overall tour was exciting, I still wished that the visit duration could've been extended. We departed from Las Vegas at 8.00 am and started our return trip from Death Valley at 2.00 pm (to arrive at Vegas at 4-5 pm). Had we started earlier (say, at 7 pm) or we returned later (at 3 pm), we could've had more time to enjoy the visit more relaxedly.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend this tour, particularly to those who feel more comfortable touring with a small number of people.
