Discover Red Rock Canyon and the outdoor beauty of the Nevada desert
Enjoy a delicious BBQ feast with meat or fish, vegetables, and cowboy s’mores
What to expect
Enjoy the real West! Ride for 90-minutes on horseback with a guide along trails like the ones cowboys rode a hundred years ago. Set your eyes on the dramatic and colorful walls of Red Rock Canyon, as well as deep gorges from high atop a desert mountain. Stop as the sun begins its daily descent, and you'll see the lights of the Las Vegas Valley far below. Ride starts about 2 hours before sunset and changes throughout the year. Then, it's back to camp beneath the moon and stars, guided by the light of the campfire, for a freshly prepared BBQ Dinner with your choice of a 16 oz. New York Strip Steak (cooked to your preference), grilled chicken, grilled salmon or vegetarian (Let us know in Special Requirements what you would like to eat). Your dinner will be served with crisp green salad with dressing, baked beans, cowboy potatoes , corn on the cob, beverages (soft drinks and water) and Cowboy S'mores for dessert! Cowboy S'mores are marshmallows sandwiched between chocolate chip cookies. They taste best when served at night around the campfire.

Easy trail ride and great dinner!
Apr 2021
We had a very good experience and really enjoyed our tour guides, the shuttle driver and the chef!

To start -- our shuttle driver Roy went above and beyond by actually going into a hotel to locate a guest who called from her phone lost. They somehow had been turned around at guest services and mis-directed; and when she finally managed to get the guide on the phone he went straight to retrieve her to prevent further delay or confusion. On the way out to the ranch; he also spotted a road runner and pointed it out to all of us!!! Such a great eye, and those little details make such a big difference between "good" and "amazing!"

My husband had never ridden a horse before and was a bit nervous; but we both had a really great time on this slow easy ride. It was so relaxing, and the scenery was beautiful. I appreciated that they did take a minute to take some photos of us while we were on the horses/mules together. I also really appreciated the information and conversations about differences between horses and mules and all the wonderful stories shared about the work that goes into training and preparing their horses.

Fantastic experience for a city slicker!
This was one of the best excursions I have ever booked. The communication with the company was fantastic, the pick up and drop off from our downtown hotel was super smooth. The ride itself was amazing, especially for a newbie city slicker like me. The guides were patient and kind and my mule was gentle enough that I was able to enjoy the experience. Back at the ranch, the dinner and s'mores were wonderful. The entire staff were very professional, considerate and understanding and made sure the guests felt comfortable and safe. I have never been on a horse or a mule and I was terrified at the beginning but thanks to the staff I felt confident enough to relax and enjoy the adventure.

Beautiful views
Mar 2021 • Family
Fun little outing with the kids on our visit to Vegas. We enjoyed the trip but it’s definitely slow and 90 minutes was just too long. The views were beautiful and dinner was fabulous. If doing the sunset bbq ride, bring plenty of clothes! We knew it would get chilly but we were VERY cold on the second half of the ride and during dinner.

Great Experience
Had a great time. Was cooler there than in Vegas by 10 degrees. Drizzled in Vegas.... snowed in the canyon... so be prepared for cooler weather in appropriate months. Awesome staff. It was just the 2 of us & the guide that night .... God guy. Wish I could remember his name. See pics. The BBQ is at the ranch house, not in the canyon. Good time. Worth the money.

Outdoor adventure
Mar 2021 • Couples
The ride was a little cold and we got snowed on, however they were very accommodating with extra jackets and lots of humor. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the horses. The sweet lady cooking was motherly making sure we were all good. The food was delicious and hot!! There were restrooms and a warm place indoors to eat with hot chocolate. After the ride they had a fire pit going where you could sit and roast marshmallows. It was a very memorable ending to our honeymoon. The scenery was so gorgeous. Would do it again in an instant... A must if you love the outdoors!!

5 stars is not enough!!! We had 3 guides and 17 people on horses. The views were amazing. The staff phenomenal. The food was out of this world! The pictures don’t even do this experience justice. The price for what you get is a true bargain. One word for the wise... bring cash to tip! Tip well, these guys and girls work hard!

Cool at first, but boring after 1/2 way.
Jan 2021
This was a cool experience but I don't think I'd do it again. The team at coyboy trails were awesome to work with, they were able to book us last minute (same day) for the sunset ride and dinner. Shuttle pick up from the strip to the canyon (about 35 minute commute) was timely and went smoothly. We arrived at the canyon and they set us up with safety stuff and matched us to our horses. The horses were so sweet and well trained, great for any first time riders and beginners. They definitely had personality which made for an interesting ride here and there, but overall they were well behaved and didn't veer off course. The trail was about an hour long and not very scenic. They're located on the side of the canyon where only small creatures live, so not much to see except the canyon itself. My biggest complaint about this tour is that it was very slow with no excitement and nothing to see. The horses are trained to walk single file through the trail, and we ride at a slow walking pace. Its cool in the beginning when you're first starting off, but after about halfway, you get kinda bored. The horses were so well trained that at one point, I almost fell asleep. Tour guides knowledgeable and are great at keeping you and your horse safe, but there's no information given, they just kinda silently lead you through the canyon on your horse and help you if your horse decides to stop and eat grass. Cool for my first time on the horse, but I was so bored by the end of the trip. The highlight itself are the beautiful horses. I was so happy to have Beauty on my ride, a sweet sweet horse who follows instructions so well.

Afterwards we got to eat dinner and cook smores by the fireside before shuttling back to our hotel. Food was good, and the team took care of us well.

Overall cool experience, but wish it was a bit faster paced, or at least more informative so that we don't get bored halfway through.

Best Horseback Riding and Amazing Food

The service was absolutely amazing! The guides were so kind, the food was awesome, and the view was beautiful. We recommend getting the steak! It’s huge. Also, it gets a little bit chilly in the winter but not too bad.
