Whale and Dolphin Watching Cruise from Cape May
Join the captain and his seasoned crew as your cruise into the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean for a 3-hour whale and dolphin watching experience. The Delaware Bay Estuary is a sanctuary for many species of marine life, including humpback whales, Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, manta rays, thresher sharks, hammerheads, harbor porpoise, seals, northern gannets, great shearwaters, laughing gulls and a plethora of fish species. This cruise allows for an awesome offshore experience for the family, as well as seasoned adventurers and seafarers alike, and is fully narrated by your captain, who will point out local history along with many types of marine life.
What to Expect
After meeting and embarking your boat with a capacity of 405 passengers at Miss Chris Marina in Cape May, you'll head out to the Delaware Bay, which combines a unique confluence of fresh and saltwater and make for a nutrient rich area teeming with life and conducive to whale and dolphin activity. Enjoy the captain's commentary and potential sightings as you navigate between the estuary, Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Unlike other areas where the whales are far away, many sightings occur within the Delaware Bay or within ten miles of land.

What's included on the whale and dolphin cruise:
  • Free Parking at Miss Chris Marina
  • 3-hour cruise aboard one of the largest and fastest boats in South Jersey
  • Fully-narrated history and nature cruise by experienced, licensed captain and naturalists
  • Marine mammals guaranteed (whales, dolphins or porpoises)
  • ADA compliant boarding ramps, vessel and restrooms
  • United States Coast Guard inspected vessel
  • Whale Sense Certified Naturalist and Captain and Crew
  • Access to local flavors at the Snack Bar (cash or credit accepted) like Cape May Brewery Beer, Yuengling, and local vineyards like Cape May Winery and Hawk Haven as well as a full-service bar with Grey Goose, Bacardi, Captain Morgan, Johnny Walker Black, etc. along with Good Humor ice cream, Hers Chips, Dietz and Watson Hot Dogs, and Tony's Pizza.

At the end of the cruise, you'll return to Miss Chris Marina around 4pm.

We had this tour on a warm, sunny day in September. The beautiful weather made up for the lack of sightings. We saw less than a dozen dolphins and no whales. However, the cruise was very relaxing and provided great views of the Cape May...More

Had a great time. Even though no sightings, the crew and ride were great. Enjoyed family time together. Highly recommend taking the cruise. Captain was very informative on history of the surrounding areas.

We went mid-week with about 30 on board. Captain was quite informative during the cruise as we passed different areas of interest. Cruise went through the canal created during WWII (making Cape May an island), then into Delaware Bay, and along the Atlantic Ocean coast,...More

Philip G., I suggest you give the Cruise Ship a call directly. Am not a Marine Biologist but am guessing that late in the season, the Dolphins might be thinking about heading south into warmer waters. The staff are very well... More
