The Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge experience was a scenic and adventurous day trip. It was so great viewing Oregon’s natural wonders and meeting new people as well! We were so happy the organizers decided to reverse the order of the trip so we visited the waterfalls later in the day when the heat was unbearable. Our tour guide, Zeke, was friendly and well learned on Oregon’s history and culture. He energized the long day trip and accommodated all participants’ needs. My partner and I are excited to return and see the falls and mountain in the future!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day with guides Malia and Craig! The weather cooperated, giving us breathtaking views of Mounts Hood, St. Helen’s, Jefferson and Adams. Malia and Craig shared from their wealth of knowledge and stories about the beautiful Columbia River Gorge area with its numerous lovely falls. Their passion for this beautiful corner of Oregon made it even easier for us to fall in love with the Pacific Northwest. We enjoyed our ride up Mt. Hood and loved walking in the snow and meeting Heidi, the Saint Bernard mascot of Timberline Lodge. Malia and Craig easily fielded any questions that arose and interacted with the guests in a manner that made us feel like family. The group was small and the van very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this trip and wouldn’t hesitate to book a future experience with Wildwood Adventures.

This was a delightful trip and so glad we did both the falls AND Mt. Hood. Our travel van followed the Columbia River beginning in Troutville and had great stops along the way at Vista House and several waterfalls in the area. Our Driver/Guide was SAM and she was very personable and offer great information about the area and if she didn't know the answer to a question, she'd check in with Wildwood staff and get an answer by the next stop. Lunch was on our own in Hood River, OR - lots of little coffee shops, diners and brewpubs. On the afternoon leg of the trip we stopped at a farmer stand if folks wanted to purchase fresh cider, jams, or fruit. Additionally, the Draper Girl market stop offered the chance to feed goats and a great view of Mt. Hood from the parking lot. Plenty of time was allocated to explore Timberline Lodge (if you have a National Parks passport get a stamp from the front desk of the hotel) before returning to Portland. Sam was attentive to the needs of her passengers and willingly took photos when asked. We'd happily book again with Wildwood!

My wife and I could not be more pleased with the overall tour. From the communication to the comfort of the transportation, to Evan, our excellent tour guide with many hidden talents.
Full of information and great scenery. The weather could not have been more perfect which provided for unobstructed views.
Overall, we highly recommend Wildwood Adventures and ask for Evan.

Seeing Mount Hood was a bucket list item for me, and we had an absolutely clear blue sky on the day. The guide, Evan, was terrific - very knowledgeable, flexible, passionate, and did not repeat himself from the tour I did with him two days earlier (see my review of Oregon Coast tour). We managed to sneak in an extra waterfall, even though we had ample time at each place we stopped. Evan made a point to interact with everyone, offered to take photos, and took anyone who wanted to go on an extra hike to find the snowline when we stopped at Timberline Lodge. The minivan was very comfortable and Evan was a confident driver. Everyone was masked, no complaining. This day was a highlight of my three weeks in the West.

Thank you for great day!
Our tour guide Simone was full of knowledge about all things Portland, nature, waterfalls, Timberline Lodge. The van was very comfortable and clean. The tour stops were well planned and we all had a fun time.
Great sights and photo opportunities. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Mt Hood.

This tour was fantastic!! The drive is so picturesque that you don't even need to leave the van. Each stop was so beautiful. Activity level was super easy and relaxed. We could get to and experience the waterfalls and Mount Hood without extensive hiking. The town where ww stopped for lunch was Hood River. It was so quaint. Lots of great lunch options and shops. But best of all, we had amazing guides, Sam and Shannon. Sam is so knowledgeable, attentive, and funny. She really made the trip so fun and interesting! They were both so great! Would highly recommend!!!

Zeke went above and beyond. Was lenient with those running a tiny bit late and followed a good schedule. VERY informative and not just on the places we saw but anything else you could have needed to know about. Very personable, caring and down to earth. We saw very nice sights, so worth it!!!

It was our first trip to PDX, and we wanted to see the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. I had booked thru hotels.com and we received suggestions of "things to do" there. We booked with Wildwood Adventures and could not have been more pleased. They offered excellent customer service, following up the day before to confirm with us. Right on time for the pick up. They included water, apples and snacks. There was ample time at each stop to take in the spectacular views. Dan our guide was knowledgeable, sincere, pleasant - just a delightful guy. We would HIGHLY recommend this company and this tour.

Hi. When you say needs good weather, is this a tour you can do in January? We are travelling in January to the area. Are tours in January highly likely to be cancelled? Thank you
How physically demanding is the tour? I'd like to have my parents join us on this tour. They are both in their 70th, healthy, but my mom is still recovering from a hip fracture and can't walk fast. Would they be able to enjoy the scenes without having to walk too much?

Five of us were traveling together. All of us in our 70's. My wife had hip replacement last year. One of our friends, in her mid 70's has mobility challenges. We all made the trip just fine and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

I would probably choose left, but it's a small van with large windows, so not a bad seat anywhere.

Has this area fully recovered from 2017 wildfires? Any impact of the wildfires in Oregon this year on any of the sites in this area?

You can still see a few of the burnt trees, but mostly recovered, AND the driver knows which roads are closed so he knows BEST routes to take!

Hello, I have 2 questions:
Q: What is the expected return time of the trip?
Q: Am I able to bring a bag on the bus, or if not is there somewhere I could keep it while on the tour? I have a 9PM flight.

We returned about 5pm to downtown Portland. It really depends on the rush hour traffic back into Portland.
There is some room for baggage. I would check with the company first before booking the trip about everything. They are easy to get a hold of and great at answering questions.
