What to Expect
After meeting your guide in Byron Bay, get outfitted with a paddle, safety vest, and a two-person sea kayak that’s designed for ease and stability. Then, following your guide, head out into Cape Byron Marine Park. As you paddle, see the historic Cape Byron Light—Australia’s most powerful lighthouse—and learn about the area’s cultural and Aboriginal history from your guide. Navigate toward the local pod of more than 300 dolphins that inhabit the area, and enjoy an amazingly up-close experience with these smart, playful marine mammals in their natural habitat. Spot other marine life such as sea turtles and migrating humpback whales (which appear from May to November) as well. Before returning to Byron Bay, stop at a lovely beach for tea with light snacks. Note that on the off-chance that you don’t encounter any dolphins, you can take the tour again on another day free of charge.

Unfortunately I felt really sea sick and we saw no animals however the staff worked really hard to try and make it a good time. You get a free trip another time as we saw nothing at all, however I only had one day so no use to me. It’s physically very hard work.

Hi Lauren Thank you for your review. We are sorry you didn't see any wildlife on your tour, as you say the staff usually keep trying until the end just in case, but sometime the wildlife can be elusive. Its a pity you weren't around for a few more days but don't worry our dolphin guarantee has no limit. Just let us know next time you are back in Byron. Cheers CBK

We had previously booked to go kayaking with a different company in byron bay, however, they cancelled on us at the last minute so we were left with nothing to do on a rainy afternoon. Luckily, we called up Cape Byron Kayaks and they were still running their tour despite the

I believe that the guides were somewhat lured to the open ocean, possibly because of whale sittings. The group,in turn, was forced to follow and became completely scattered. There was no communication,we didn't know where we were going or why we were just paddling further and

Hi Gernot Thank you for the review. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy the tour. Our main goal is for customers to have fun and feel safe. Our guides do their best to find wildlife for everyone to enjoy and this can mean sometimes heading further out into the bay of Byron. We are sorry you felt unsafe at some points during the tour but I can assure you we check weather conditions frequently and cancel any tours we deem to be hazardous. As you didn’t see any wildlife you still have the option to come again for free which we hope you use so you can fully enjoy the tour. CBK
