Overview
Get out on the waters of Charleston Harbor during a 2-hour cruise aboard an 84-foot-tall (25-meter) classic tall ship. As the crew hoists the sails of the schooner, you'll glide past some of the city's historical sights and watch for dolphins in the water. Drinks are available for purchase on board. Select a departure time when booking.
What to Expect

Your cruise starts at Aquarium Wharf, where you'll board your genuine tall ship, powered only by Mother Nature and her incredible wind power. Once on board, watch the crew hoist the sails. Travel through waters that Blackbeard once anchored in, relax on deck, and imagine a time when the harbor was filled with these magnificent ships.

While this is not a narrated cruise, the incredible crew is happy to answer questions about some of Charleston's most historic landmarks that you will see, such as Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown, an Essex-class aircraft carrier that played an important role during World War II.

See beautiful homes that line the Battery and famous Fort Sumter, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired, and watch for pelicans performing diving acts. Don't forget about Charleston's own modern marvel with an up-close look at the impressive Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the western hemisphere. You're welcome to help raise and trim the sails, or you may sit back and enjoy the ride.

You may bring your own food on board, if you wish, but not drinks; beer, wine, and soft drinks are available for purchase on board at your own expense.

Our family sail was in August - so heat is expected - once the ship started moving it was fine - although we sailed on a day that the water was low and the winds were light - so we didn't take the regular route....More

Beautiful sail!

I was lucky enough to be able to join the crew for a dolphin cruise on Labor Day. What a lovely sail! The ship is beautiful, the staff friendly, and the experience memorable. It was one of the highlights of my trip to Charleston.

RELAXING

I was somewhat concerned about going at 3:00 due to the heat and humidity but I had nothing to worry about. The wind cooperated and it was very enjoyable and thoroughly relaxing. I have been in other cities on similar cruises that had padded cushions...More

Relaxing cruise on Charleston Harbor

The sailing cruise was nice - despite the heat. The weather was wonderful so we got a clear view of the harbor and surrounding banks and islands. There wasn't quite enough wind to go all the way to Ft Sumter, but we got a good...More

Excellent sail today. Captain Jenny decided to cancel the 1 PM sail due to weather concerns and we were able to reschedule later in the day. Crew members Chris and Freeman were helpful with drink service and rearranging the sail for sixteen of us. I...More
