Itinerary
Take your North Island adventure to new heights on the incredible stretch of coastline between the Bay of Islands and Cape Reigna. A custom-built Waverider coach, built to effortlessly move over sand and rugged terrain, picks you up at your centrally located Paihia hotel or the Paihia waterfront.
The first stop on your route is the ancient Puketi Forest. Follow your guide along a boardwalk that twists through the kauri forest and learn about the 1,000-year-old trees from informational panels located throughout the interpretive walk.

Next up is Houhoura Harbour for lunch (choice of Fish and chips or Falafel Salad) at the iconic Wagner’s Holiday Park. Then it’s onward to Cape Reinga to see the Tasman Sea merge with the Pacific Ocean at the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, situated at the northernmost tip of New Zealand.
Continuing back down the Northland coast, your guide stops at the Te Paki Sand Dunes. Hop onto a sandboard for a thrilling downhill ride on the Quicksand Stream. Back aboard the Waverider, you’ll head south along Ninety Mile Beach, a striking stretch of unpopulated shoreline where you can stroll and dig for shellfish.
Your full-day Northland tour ends with the return drive to your starting point in Paihia.

Fun in the sun and sand!

We loved our time with this tour! The tour guide was full of excitement and details about the area and Maori culture. The tour itself was even better than expected and I highly recommend this company. I appreciated the cleanliness of the coach too.

I’m so sorry but can’t answer your question about departing from Kaitala. I know we made two stops to pick up additional passengers on our way out, but for the life of me I can’t remember the names of those locations.
