What to expect
Your trip will begin by checking in at Gate B, Pier 39 fifteen minutes prior to departure (Gate B is located behind the Aquarium of the Bay on the east side of Pier 39 close to The Embarcadero). Upon departure we will introduce the crew, have a safety brief, and share some history about the yacht. Then it is time hoist the sails and head to the start line! Participation is encouraged! With a mast that reaches 11 stories high, everything is big and powerful. You get to fill active crew roles and will have the opportunity to spin the sail trim controls known as “coffee grinders,” take your turn at the helm, or simply sit back and enjoy the ride on this high-performance America’s Cup racing yacht. While we are sailing you will enjoy close racing and thrilling action as we jockey for position in the race fleet. We have complimentary water and energy bars available during the sail. There are no restroom facilities aboard this race yacht so we will instruct you where to use the restroom on land before departure. Our crew enjoys sharing their knowledge about the America’s Cup and sailing on San Francisco Bay so bring lots of questions. If you enjoy your experience, gratuities for the crew are greatly appreciated. Both your Captain and the yacht are licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard for passenger service. USA 76 is a very stable yacht and sea sickness is never a problem for our guests. USA 76 can accommodate up to 20 guests at a time.

Wonderfull Opportunity!
Aug 2019
This was a gift from my wife, I had so much fun helping the crew in the race, seeing the awesome tech of the boat, hearing the captain discuss strategies and his reasons for tacking/ jibing etc when and where he did. Frankly after leaving all those thousands of tourists on the pier 39 dock, I was amazed the boat wasn't full. So much fun. And on the sail back after the race I've never seen the city looking prettier. Totally recommend for anyone regardless of sailing interest or experience!

Amazing experience
Mar 2019 • Solo
Easy to sign up and easy to enroll. sailing with professionals who were super friendly and knowledgable was great. I liked the race day because it added the thrill of a race to the sailing but I suspect day sail is also fun. The crew were amazing and let us participate as much or as little as we wanted, I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have sailed with friends etc few times and it's always fun but sailing the AC was another level altogether. Great day outing or regular hobby.

Sailing on USA 76 was a great experience! The boat crew were very friendly and kept everyone involved the whole time! We learned a lot about racing strategy and sailing! I would recommend this to everyone who is interested in a hands on sailing experience.

Awesome Boat
Jul 2018 • Friends
USA-76 is a full on America's Cup speed machine. A veteran of the 2003 America's Cup regatta, won by Switzerland's Alinghi in Auckland, NZ. Later in 2003 it beat Alinghi in match races in SF Bay. The boat is 84 ft of carbon fiber, with a 115ft tall mast. On the Friday evening race day, we were the Gorilla, at least twice as long as the other boats. The July wind was stiff and shifty. We blew by the other boats, they seemed to enjoy competing against a celebrity boat. You are the race crew. Lots of grinding, and they even let each of us have the wheel for a few minutes. Outstanding day on the Bay. One thing you need to know: Go before you go. I'm not sure if the boat has a head.

We knew nothing about sailing but were soon grinding* with the best of them. They made sure everyone who wanted to be involved was able to have a go at helping with the sails and with sailing. It was fantastic to take control of the yacht and to be out on the bay (even if we didn't;t quite know how the race worked and who won).

Grinding and Tacking!
Mar 2018 • Friends
Yes we were sailing crew on Saturday Raceday! Did we know how to Tack and Grind before today? NO! but the crew of the USA 1976 was supportive and encouraged us to "give it a go" and what a fun exciting day, that had us shredding the foresail and scooting over the finish line in 1st Place! We also went to the Golden Gate Yacht Club for the celebration festivities! Well done ACsailing!

A wonderful sailing experience.
Feb 2018 • Solo
Race day with hardly any wind created a fun morning and afternoon on the Bay, the crew was wonderful, we all got to steer the fabulous yacht USA 76. We did get to race and came second on handicap. The Captain was very knowledgeable and many of the crew were old hands on many famous races.
As a disabled person I didn't do the sail grinders or salt and pepper pots; but I did get to steer and help with folding up the huge mainsail. A bonus was lunch at the Golden Gate Yacht Club after racing. The crew were very helpful getting me on and off although I am not visibly disabled they seemed to understand. What a fabulous adventure, I'll be back.
