The Golden Gate Bridge & Sausalito Bike Tour
US$55.00
Overview

Combine your introduction to the San Francisco Bay with your daily exercise on this affordable, small-group bicycle tour. Begin at the city’s historic waterfront, Fisherman’s Wharf, then follow your guide through the Presidio, a national park with breathtaking views of the Pacific, and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore the picturesque bay-side town of Sausalito before returning to San Francisco by either bike or ferry.

What to Expect

Starting in Fisherman’s Wharf, our route takes you along the San Francisco Bay waterfront, through Fort Mason, the Marina, Crissy Field in the Presidio, over the Golden Gate Bridge, and down to the picturesque town of Sausalito, just north of the bridge. Stops might include the municipal pier in Fisherman's Wharf, Fort Mason, the Marina, Palace of Fine Arts, Crissy Field, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausalito. Once the tour finishes in Sausalito, guests are encouraged to have lunch in Sausalito and bring their bikes on the ferry back to San Francisco. The Blue & Gold Fleet ferry disembarks in Fisherman’s Wharf, about 5 minutes from our starting location. You can use the bikes to explore the rest of the day. Bikes need to be back at the shop before closing time.

Hills
Our Golden Gate tour minimizes the hills and uses the gentlest ascents possible. This tour is designed for anyone comfortable on a bike with a modest level of fitness. There are exactly two hills on this tour: (1) a short hill over Fort Mason and (2) the climb up to the bridge. If any of our tour guests prefer to walk up those hills, we’re all for it.

Food
We don’t stop for lunch on this tour, but we do include a snack. If you’re taking the morning tour, consider eating lunch in Sausalito after the tour finishes.

An outstanding tailored tour. Mike, our guide, was incredibly considerate & supportive of my wife, is not very confident on a bicycle. He was also very knowledgeable about all the spots we stopped at along the ride. He took the time to explain in detail...More

My husband and I had a great time on the Golden Gate and Sausalito bike tour. The route was relatively easy, with only a couple of hills which we were able to walk with our bikes if we wanted to. John was an excellent guide...More

Great tour and our guide, Michael was fantastic.

Great tour and our guide, Michael was fantastic. The ride through the city was very good with many stops and info about the sights. The bridge is hectic and you should be "on your game" as you cross, with heavy bike traffic in both directions....More

Guided cycle rather than informative tour

The tour guide was charming and looked after the group well but there was little in the way of history or interesting information. Normally bike tours are a great way to learn about the city but i don’t think the expense is worth what was...More
