Joseph was our tour guide and he was the BEST!! He is a local NY'er and shared so many great details about the park. We road as a family, with kids ages 13 and 10. For my son, the 10 year old, this was the highlight of his NYC trip! We saw the memorial to John Lennon and the Alice In Wonderland statue...we also got an incredible history of how the park has changed over time. If you are looking for a fun and educational way to see Central Park, do this tour! (And ask for Joseph - he was really great!)

Bellissimo tour, piacevole e dettagliato.
Amazing tour, really nice and detailed. Our guide, Joseph, told us the story and all the details related to Central Park and its attractions. Bikes are confortable and easy to drive and the tour is relaxing, with no effort. I would suggest it to everyone in NY, to enjoy beautiful views!

My first ever bike tour on a trip has me officially hooked! Our guide was very knowledge of the park and made several stops along the tour for us to take pictures and hear him talk about the history of the stops.
The bikes were in good condition and so were the helmets. Each bike has a small bike to put your personal belongings in or you can keep them at the shop. The shop also has a bathroom that is clean and is located near the park if you want to get there early or go there after like I did to visit Strawberry Fields.
I will go on another one of these tours the next time I'm in NYC. I loved it!

We signed up for the Central Park Small Group bike tour. The overall experience was good, the tour gives you time in all of the major areas of the park. Lots is going on in the park, other bikes, joggers, walkers, horse drawn carriages, it can be a bit overwhelming, you have to listen and follow the guides recommendations. Once you get on the bike ...its you and your abilities to manage all that is going on. Our group did OK, sometimes we got separated via red lights and people not keeping up with guide. All in all it was a great way to enjoy Central Park and learn some of the history !

Firstly, when you book this tour through tripadvisor, you are not provided the full information (like where you meet) that you need, so you have to contact the company. Not the company's fault, tripadvisor needs to fix. Also, note that it is a 48 hour, not 24 hour cancellation notice, if you need to do so.
It clearly states in the description that the "small-group tour" consists of 15 people. We had 18 people and I'm sure three less would not have made a difference because it felt like a large group. When I think of small, I think of less than ten. We were at the back of our group the majority of the time, so who knows what our guide was saying. We could really only hear him when we made a stop.
We booked the afternoon tour, which got started by 2pm by the time everyone filled out paperwork and got fitted for their bikes. Our tour guide was the self-proclaimed "Best tour guide with a stutter." If a severe stutter is going to prevent you from enjoying the tour, then I suggest you make sure to check before you make your reservation. He was very nice and informative when we could hear him. The whole tour lasted about 2.5 hours. I would definitely recommend biking Central Park. It is the quickest and most efficient way to make your way through the Park.

I took the Bike and Roll's guided Central Park tour, which was included in my Sightseeing Pass. Their online reservation system for Sightseeing Pass holders was broken at the time, so I was told to just come by before the tour. I assume others have been affected by this as well, at least that would explain why we ended up with quite a large group.
There were more than 20 people in our group, which just seemed like too many: Someone would always be stopped by a traffic light or just take more time. Also, listening to the guide can get hard with so many people and bikes around them. In the end, the tour took about 40 minutes longer than the expected two hours.
Our guide, a middle-aged gentleman, kind of made up for that with good explanations. I wouldn't recommend against the tour, but you should be aware that a guided bike tour means going at the group's pace, being considerate of slower group members and waiting for them. This is especially true if the group gets larger.

My husband and I only had 3 days in NYC and so we wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. Central Park was high on our list and so a bike tour made sense. Our guide, Joseph told us many stories and historical facts about the park which gave us the information we had hoped for! As a HUGE Beatles fan, I was thrilled to see Strawberry Fields and the Dakoda Residence [across the street from the park]. Joseph is a true New Yorker and his passion for the city and the park were evident.
Thank you for a very memorable and pleasurable experience!! Linda and Joe

My husband and I opted for the Bike and Roll experience for our first time in Central Park. Mark was our guide and he was very personable and full of information. This tour is good for groups, good for families. It's easy enough to handle, even though being out of shape, I had to stop a few times. The others in the group were accommodating. I would recommend this as a fun way to see a landmark, particularly if you have never been and do not know the history. Mark also gave us some wonderful tips on local restaurants which we were happy to take!

They provide bikes, all the same model. They will require you to call them 48 hours in advance to get your height so they can prepare your bike. You can always ask them then, maybe they will allow it, I don't know.

I agree to the response from luvhrsz. Bike and Roll will sign you up either online or over the phone. I purchased the New York Sightseeing pass for 3 days for 2 people. This allowed me to enter us using my pass. I called to make the reservation. I agree that you will want to wear comfortable outdoor clothes as it gets warm. A bottle of water is provided. There is no place to store things once there so unless you want to take it along on the tour do not bring it along. (such as a purse). Also remember to bring sunscreen.

They don’t have tandem bikes, but they have trailer bikes they can hitch to the back of a regular bike- I suggest you call ahead so they can prepare it. We did this for my two small nieces (11 and 13 yrs old, both under 5 feet tall). If your daughter is tall, she might not be too comfortable riding the trailer bike.

Hi I have emailed the business directly for a refund (as departure point wasn't advised and phone wasn't answered) but no-one has replied....
*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
