- Andy D00Repeated Exceedingly poor Customer Service & CommunicationI left a previous poor review on trustpilot also due to no responses from the NY Pass “contact us - we love to hear from you” form. The NY Pass company respond pretending to be interested/concerned. They ask for more information and promise to get back (the info asked for incidentally being the information you already have sent them in your attempts to contact/get a response). This is followed by a standard email saying they are busy and will be in touch. —— trust me — they will not respond. I had originally sent them a simple question , which I also resubmitted after they failed to reply. They did not reply to that either. They failed to honour the promise to get back to me also after I had posted a previous 2 star review on Trustpilot. Based on this totally indifferent customer service - and their response since my last contact, I think I have evidenced that they are expert in marketing and sales — exceedingly poor in customer service and communication. It seems they post concerned responses if they get a poor review - but it would seem this is just a public pretence of concern as they do not follow up when you send them their requested (and duplicated) additional information. 9 Days since my previous review/contact — still waiting - hopes eternal!
- X7410XIjos_g00Awful experience - Don't buy from The New York Pass, poor customer serviceAwful experience. If I had known it, I would have bought the passes from a different company such as Sightseeing Pass or CityPass! I bought 3 passes in Dec 2019 to use them in Sept 2020 ($594); I obviously couldn't travel due to Covid. Now that things are better, I'm going to travel to NY in Aug and have tried to contact The New York Pass by all possible means to see if I can use the passes I bought. I have been trying to contact them for over 5 months, but they don't answer my calls, emails, WhatApps, website forms, etc. I don't know what else to do to get an answer; I have already wasted a lot of time trying to contact them. The New York Pass team, I have seen that you answer all comments on TripAdvisor, but not your clients' email, calls, and WhatsApp. If you ever see this, please can you confirm if I can still use the 3 passes I paid for? I have written you by WhatsApp and at feedback@leisurepassgroup.com, feedback@gocity.com, contact@gocity.com (the passes and the order information are attached). The email subject is "URGENT -The New York Pass issue - Dissatisfied customer". I would appreciate it if you could confirm here and by email if I can still use the passes I paid for by mid-July so that I can plan my trip.
- N7454WCstefand00Bad experienceWe had the 2 day pass and booked on a Monday evening (7pm ish) to visit for the Top of the Rock on the next day (Tuesday). All went well on Tuesday incl Empire State Building observatory (reserved in advance) but when we tried to use the pass on Wednesday morning at the MoMA, all three were expired. So be careful not to pre-book or pre-reserve any slots as the pass is activated and time runs. And it doesn’t run for 48 hrs as on may assume - the reservation/ ticket purchase on Monday evening stole a full day from the two days which is unacceptable. In fact, we feel tricked by this user unfriendly policy. Besides that, you will have a hard time to visit so many attractions in two days to earn the value for the pass. Not recommended at all.
- jking700Good Affordable PassA very good pass which is excellent value. The pass was recognised everywhere we went. I was originally concerned we would have a lot of blank faces from staff looking at my pass, but everything we used it the process was relatively painless. Only thing to note - we went during a very quiet February, therefore the queues for everything were almost entirely empty. As a result we were able to do practically everything. Caution should be taken if using this pass during the busier holiday periods because you do have to exchange your pass for an actual ticket at the attraction, and whereas we could get an immediate timeslot for everything, in the summer I should imagine this is not the case (thus some of the reviews below). Shame you cannot prebook everything but nevertheless the pass presented excellent value and would recommend to anyone. In our opinion 3 attractions a day is achievable.
- debbielosee00The New York Pass is a must for a tourist that wants to see as much as possible over a weekendMy daughter wanted to see as many attractions over two days and do things (Christmas show, Color Factory, Central Park, etc on the other two days that that didn’t require a pass. We went on 10 attractions. If we were paying for each activity based on the box office price, it would have been have $422 each. Instead, we paid $149 for a two day pass! We saved $273 for each of us (two passes were $298 and it would have cost us $844, if we didn’t have a pass! I highly recommend this deal! These were the activities: 1. Top of the Rock™ Observation Deck Rockefeller Plaza 2. Statue of Liberty Ferry and Ellis Island Immigration Museum 3. Harbor Lights Cruise by Circle Line 4. 9/11 Memorial & Museum. l 5. One World Observatory 6. Madame Tussaud’s (Wax Museum) 7. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! 8. The Ride - Holiday Edition 9. Empire State Building Observatory 10. Escape Virtuality (VR experiences)
- 999marthaceciliaa00Regularice cream museum : enclosed springer pool. The aggressive employee. They must return money because the museum is not complete. And it is not fair that they say that the day before they did. Many of us come from other countries with the New York Country and they inform us that it is the floor of the pool. They must fix it at night, because you pay for everything and for the children that is something very important. And this weekend closed for the New York Pass because it was full????????????? Disrespect and it is a form of stealing. Not all of us live in New York to come back another day. The differences are huge. The tourist bus that in a specific sector could not pass because there was an event. The botanical garden you can not enter almost anything that is inside, just walk. .... Places two and three days are closed during the week and they publish it the night before or the same day. They disrespect the foreign tourist.
- MoonflowerLJ00Do not buy from this company!Do not buy any passes from The Leisure Pass Group, which runs the New York Pass. We bought our passes in September 2019 for an April 2020 trip which we obviously couldn't go on due to Covid. Our pass was extended and we thought we'd be able to go April 2021. That can't happen either, so we asked for our passes to be refunded. They absolutely refuse to refund the cost of passes that are never going to be able to be used. We were able to get all of our other reservations refunded, including our airline tickets. The Leisure Pass Group sends a form response and say they will not refund but will extend. We are not going on this trip anytime soon, especially coming from outside the USA. This company has the worst customer service out of all the companies I dealt when cancelling for our trip we never went on. These are not normal times. This company should realise that and work with their customers. Do not buy anything from this company. It is not worth it.
- mlpourbaix00STOP THE RIP-OFFDO NOT PURCHASE from NY Pass. I have purchased 2 passes in December 2019 with an extension to December 2021. Due to COVID, NY will b closed to international travellers however NY Pass will not refund the $498 I paid them. A rip-off
- Maps79456100No Covid RefundSTAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. This Company has no customers service what so ever.I purchased passes for a trip planed in april with my niece. Then covid hit. After several emails, chats, etc. they made it clear that their refund policy states no refund after 90 days for any reason. We had no problem getting a reimbursement for Everything else we booked due to covid. Broadway show hotel etc. Just this company refuses to refund or even talk tu us in person. Very impersonal.
- T5824QQdg00Disgusting Customer ServiceJust a warning to any potential customers of The New York Pass. After months of disputing with the company about refunding my tickets which I couldn’t use due to covid cancelling my travel, I put a claim in with my credit card company for a refund. They happily granted the refund as it was clear that I have been charged for services I was not provided with. I was told like everyone else the pass would be valid for a later date. In this climate I have no intention of travelling to New York or any of the cities they offer the pass on so should rightly receive this refund. New York pass now have the cheek to dispute the charge back which will drag this whole process on for up to another 6 months! Stop keeping people’s hard earned money and be a decent company or you won’t have any customers once this situation is over and tourism returns!
- royalenfields00No refund - COVID-19Yep - this company is the worst and should be ashamed! It’s not like we chose not to travel - the whole world went into lockdown. Same offer was made to us - use it somewhere else. Hmmmmm ... where? This was the only company not to refund our money. The ONLY company not to refund - meanwhile we had refunds on all flights, hotels, Airbnb, planes, trains, baseball tickets etc. We are all in this together. Making people pay for a service they can’t use is the lowest.
- Pioneer2944886432600COVD spoilt my trip and the new york pass have no customer serviceI would like to say that I used the new york pass and had the time of my life however I cannot. I was planning to attend in October 2020 however due to COVID I am unable to travel and have requested that the new york pass refund my money. I have emailed them around 30 times so far asking for a refund and either recieve a cut and paste repsonse to say they will not refund only extend the pass for another year or they just ignore the email completely. I find the fact that they are ignoring my numerous emails very unprofessional. I also find the fact they appear to not even read the email as the cut and paste response does not even answer the questions that I asked. I am aware that they have refunded other people as I have spoken with other people who were due to travel and they after numerous emails have been refunded. What I am asking is what is their refund criteria? WHy refund some people and not others? I have even filed a BBB complaint and they continue to send them a cut and paste reponse denying me a refund. I would have liked to have bought the pass again when I would be able to travel to new york again however due to their lack or customer service I dont think I will be purchasing one. So disappointed that my trip was cancelled and now to have this experience with the new york pass I am gutted. I would have thought companies would be showing more compassion for customers.
- MarkE92900NY Pass - Only OKPass certainly motivated us to cover territory, and had a great NYC experience in part because of it, but following two points to consider from our perspective. - value probably in front over the course of seven days without doing detailed breakdown, covering most of what we wanted to achieve, but in winter some of the more attractive offers for an active family not available, once you get past standard must do list - priority bypass of queues is a furphy, in fact opposite applied during our stay over Xmas / New Year period. Seemed like everyone had New York passes or similar so absolute default priority went to those buying tickets at the location. Add this to everyone going through security regardless then this worked out to be a reverse of the selling point ( this was a particularly busy time of course...). On balance New York pass not a slam dunk for our context.
- 988kimg00QueuingWhen u buy your New York passes it dose get you into lots of different things but be prepared to do lots of queuing even when there fast track that's the down side to these tickets
- pauli82900Not the deal it’s made out to bePaid for a New York Explorer Pass with 7 attractions. The savings are pretty minimal but the tech worked ok and it saved on queuing in a couple of busy attractions.

My wife and I decided on the three-day New York Pass after looking over which attractions we might be interested in. Some of the attractions were no problem at all (MoMA, for example), and others were only a little problematic (Top of the Rock, for example). The major problems that came up were on the most popular attractions. We tried to do the Statue of Liberty tour. The wait time was three hours for people who walked up with cash to buy tickets. However, if you had the New York Pass, you had to wait in a different line for an hour and a half to get a ticket, just so you could go wait in the same three hour line that people who had cash tickets waited in. The same was true at the 9/11 museum - if you had a New York Pass, it took you longer than it took people who had cash (or who had the competing CityPass), because you had to stand in one line to convert the bar code on your phone to a paper ticket before you could go stand in the admission line. Meanwhile, there were line-less kiosks where you could buy a ticket in cash, and step right into the admission line.
We were not in New York City for long enough to justify spending half a day in line for each popular attraction, so we missed out on a few attractions. I suppose I must admit that long lines were mostly to blame, but having the New York Pass actually made those lines even longer.
We did manage to get our money out of the pass, but only by visiting attractions we would probably not have otherwise visited. My advice is to only buy this pass (or any pass, for that matter) if you are fairly certain you can find an EXCESS of included things you actually want to do. You will certainly be disappointed if you buy them in an attempt to save money on just a few attractions you are interested in. And if you do buy the pass, expect to stand in line at the most popular attractions for longer than people who don't have the pass.
And the minor problem at Top of the Rock? That attraction is included in their "skip the line" list. But that isn't even how that attraction works. You go there and make an appointment for a time to go up, and they give you the earliest time available regardless of how you are paying. The New York Pass doesn't get you any sort of priority access to Top of the Rock. The attraction itself offers a $75 ticket option that gets you immediate access, but that is not included with the New York Pass.

Aug 2019 • Family
We visited New York in august 2019 as a family of 3 with a 7 yr old son. We didn’t initially purchase the pass. However, having paid once for the Empire State Building and with the whole of New York to visit we couldn’t afford not to. Purchased online 5 day pass for 3 and put the app on the phone without issue and was available immediately. We did all the main sites but what we liked most about the pass was that it gave us the opportunity to try the less popular activities. We really enjoyed the guided cycle tours around Central Park and Brooklyn bridge. We probably would not have done these without the pass. We visited intrepid, top of rock, opentop bus, Central Park and Brooklyn bridge bike tours, 9/11, water taxi, evening boat tour, statue liberty & Ellis island, Guggenheim, met and Nat history museums, children’s park in Central Park, Nat geographic, madam Tussaud’s, (paid separately for empire before purchasing the pass), seaport boat museum. Would definitely recommend the pass if you are adventurous and want to be busy but you have to use it for an average of 3 exhibits a day to make it worthwhile. Hence why only 4 stars.

Hello Mark. Thank you very much for sharing your review. We are really happy to know you took advantage of your New York Pass to check on all those attractions, particularly the ones you would have not visited otherwise. We indeed intended for people to really get to enjoy NYC from the most popular attractions to the not so much but still a thrill. We hope we can serve you again in the future.

We purchased our 7-day NY Pass in Dec 2018 for our trip in Dec 2019 in the sale. At the time we inputted the correct date of travel and were still able to pay for the passes. We didn’t then check on the pass until we arrived in NY a year later, where we were faced with two expired passes!!! Instantly we tried calling, emailing and tweeting the NY Pass office for assistance, to which they did reply (quite promptly) saying “nothing we can do, it expires after a year” we tried explaining that the passes hadn’t been used or activated but our complaints fell on deaf ears and very unhelpful “customer service staff”. This part of our experience I would rate 0/5.
However, after a very helpful concierge at the hotel we got it sorted (having to buy new tickets and the old ones getting refunded).
The Pass itself is totally worth it, for the experiences we did, the pass was way cheaper. The Top of Rock was particularly easy as we queued for no time at all and booked the tickets for the next day at the most convenient time for our plans. There were a lot of attractions on the pass we didn’t use (art museums mainly), however there were also many attractions we used purely because they were included. If you’re visiting NY for the first time and doing all the standard tourist attractions, the NY Pass is a must...just be sure to read ALL the small print before you fork out for it.

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are deeply sorry for this inconvenience.
As it is established in our FAQ's section: "You can purchase the New York Passes up to 12 months in advance. That means that you have a full year to activate your passes by visiting your first attraction. 1 year after your purchase, the passes will no longer be valid if you have yet to activate them." Because of this, we recommend our customers start using the passes before one year of the purchase date, however, we are happy to know that the inconvenience was sorted out and you were able to enjoy visiting the attractions desired.
We wish you the best and hope you have a great day!

Jun 2020
I purchased New York Passes in January for a June 2020 family trip. This was, of course, pre-COVID. The website claimed the 30% off sale was ending that day and the passes for a family of 5 were still nearly $1000, so I figured I'd scoop them up early. (I've been back on the website multiple times and it seems they are always having a 30% off sale that is ending soon.)
Needless to say, the trip was cancelled due to COVID. I emailed the company twice, with no response. Then I called and was told they would not refund, and the only concessions were to extend the passes until Jan 2022 or visit a different city. We will very likely not make it to NYC before the expiration. A reasonable option would be to refund the passes minus a processing fee of $50-100, but this company was unwilling to be reasonable. I'm sure there were thousands of families unable to vacation in New York City this year that this company is gaining huge profits from.

Early days yet, but having purchased a Five Day pass which will commence on the 2nd March 2020 I sent an e-mail to Liberty Helicopters as they were listed as one of the many attractions available using the pass.
The returned my e-mail promptly, however they stated that I would receive 15% discount only by using the pass.
This news is worrying as what other attractions only give reductions as opposed free entry.
I have spent £395 via Trip Advisor and sincerely hope that this is not a rip off. I will update accordingly.

Hello abertawejack28, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We do apologize for the confusion this situation may have caused you.
In this case, I would like to share with you that on our website it states that with Liberty Helicopters you can "Save 15% when taking the Big Apple or NY, NY Tours with Liberty Helicopters". This means that you will receive a 15% discount on the final price of the tour. However, many other attractions give you the right to enter without paying extra charges. For that, we recommend you to check our official website https://www.newyorkpass.com/new-york-attractions/. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance, we will wait for your update!

We bought our pass in January 2022 and visited New York in July 2022. After we bought the pass we read the bad reviews and wished we had not bought it, as we did not want to waste time queuing at all the attractions! So much so that we decided to ask for a refund of this pass and we purchased a City Pass as that allowed us to make reservations at all the attractions. We never received a refund or any communication. We then made the decision to use the New York pass at the attractions the other pass did not cover. We used this pass at the Intrepid and Space Museum (amazing interactive museum), circle line sunset boat tour, hop on hop off bus, The Edge and The One Observatory. We did not experience any issues and hardly had to queue. We found if you went to the attractions in the morning before 11am the queues were very small. I would recommend this pass as it does save you a lot of money and is easy to use, it is just a shame like the other pass that you cannot reserve your time and receive your tickets in advance.

I have been to New York City several times. This is the first time I tried the New York Pass. It was the worst experience. The Big Bus hop on hop off is only for 1 day even though we bought the 3 day pass. Of course you can upgrade for a price. Then when you get to any attraction you still have to wait in line to get a ticket to go in which is where you waste most of your time because once you have the ticket you still have to wait in line to get in. I have had other Passes which actually worked. The pass was your ticket, you got into the attractions and was able to use the hop-on hop-off during the whole duration of the pass. I CANNOT and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this pass to anyone. It is a waste of hard earned money!! The only positive thing I can say is I did the learn how to use the subway!

As stated on their website, they're not liable for anything. If they don't allow you in an attraction because there's too many people that day, then you wasted your money (even if you go as soon as they open) because noone will do anything about it. The attraction will say speak to NY pass and NY pass days speak to the attraction people... Don't think this is good value because you'll most likely come across many issues in every place. People (like us) buy this to try and save money, but it reality this is just a SCAM and you lose a lot more than you would have spend if you buy tickets directly from the attractions. When you read the terms on their website you can already see how they're going to screw you over. We just paid $200 to quickly checkout the national history museum and the MET (which gave us a slot at 4pm although we showed up at 10 am!!! And they close at 5), were rejected at the 9/11 memorial museum also at opening time because there were too many people, there was zero visibility at the observatory 💀 ... This was just an epic fail and total robbery. Don't do it!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we are so sorry to hear about this negative experience. As some of the attractions included on the pass do require advance reservations, this is not the case for all. Due to the pandemic there may be certain capacity limits, and only a certain amount of guests are allowed in at each time. A member of our team would like to speak further with you about your experience, and was wondering if you'd be able to email us at customerrelations@leisurepassgroup.com? Please include your order number in the email.
Many thanks,
The New York Pass

Do not bother buying this pass. I have purchased before (2019) and it was ok. This time it was a huge waste of money.
Their website is misleading in so many ways. I called and let them know of many attractions that they had listed there and are actually CLOSED due to Covid. All the museums now close twice a week and NY Pass don’t let you know. You have to be very careful and know the city and your way around to be able to do more than two attractions a day, definitely better to pay individually. Some are closing earlier than in the past, some of them are not even working. They are very smart when taking your money but when it comes to customer service they will do NOTHING to help you out. Lack of honesty and very poor way of conducting business. DO NOT BUY IT.
Bu the way, they changed some of the mistaken info after I let them know but when I asked for a refund they said no…. They offered 30usd back, just ridiculous…
Just FYI museums are closed Tuesdays and Wednesday….
Big Bus is only operating until 4pm or even before if they feel like shutting down… Empire State building opens only at noon… etc etc etc
But this pass will not advise you about any of this…

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with us! It's great to know you enjoyed visiting so many attractions with the New York Pass. In fact, some of the attractions needs you to get there early and for that, we recommend our customer to check the "Opening Times" section on our official website https://www.newyorkpass.com/
Have a great day!

Hi, have purchased the new york pass trying to navigate it.
how do yo book using the pass for attractions like top of the rock and empire state building?

Varies with venue. If you read the details section in the New York Pass app, it may tell you. Some websites (including Empire State) let you use the pass when you make reservations. But ... varies depending on the venue.

Most of these attractions have times you have to pick to go, how do you know at what time you can you use these passes?
Example: when you go to book attraction for empire state from their site, it asks what day and time you like to visit. So how do we know what time we have to go to the attractions with these passes?

Right now you have to book in advance your visit to museums/attractions even without the pass. So the app gives you the option of booking for every attraction ?

Is the hop on bus included for every day you have the pass or just one day total?

Hi, we what to do the catacombs by candle light but you need to book as only 3 time slots per day.... Can you do this whilst in UK or does that activate the card?
Bridget L
Norwich, UK44 contributions
Making that booking in the UK does not activate the pass. If it is the first venue on your itinerary, you will activate the pass when you arrive at the site. (You will have to show your pass at each venue, and in some cases still go to the booking office and pick up a ticket.)

I have a few questions.. First time New Yorker here.
Thinking of collecting our passes from the pick up point in NY. Can you also download the app and have it on your phone too? Or is it one or the other?
For the Statue of Liberty do you need to collect tickets in advance from an office or do you go straight to the port?
Last question - I've seen a few comments regarding the queues, especially for 9/11 and the Rockefeller Centre. Again, can you book tickets in advance or do you just turn up and wait?

We did some electronically and some with paper copies.
NY Museum (near Central Park) was electronic and non queues.
Statue of Liberty- you need to go to a fort which is where you will get your tickets on the day. The queues are HUGE to get on the ferry and no seating. Take a drink/food as there’s nothing in the queue. They do X-ray security for this. This was probably the worse queue of all.
Rockefeller - you have to get a slot so it’s worth booking the day before.
Empire State - this was one of the easier ones. I can’t remember if it was here or Rockefeller where we walked up the last few flights of stairs as the queue was very long.
We went in Oct. We did the bus tour in the first day (jet lagged and we wanted to get our bearings). Did both runs on the same day. Did the south stuff in one day but not 911 museum and saved that for the last day. You have to book your slot for this as well.
It was very tiring but worth it. We were delayed on our return flight so had another night in NY - bonus :)

I’ve ordered this over an hour ago, after payment it said it was confirmed and I’d been sent an email with my printable passes. I’ve had nothing.
The email address is correct and I can’t find anyway if contacting this company. Has anyone encountered any problems like this? Just worrying.
