Rest and relax in the calming Chena Hot Springs. Visit an Ice Museum and learn about the powers of Geothermal Energy, all while being led by expert guides.
Get a kick out of the Fairbanks Ice Museum and then revitalize your mind and body at Chena Hot Springs on this day trip from Fairbanks. Enjoy a guided tour of the museum filled with displays of ice sculptures, and then warm up at Chena Hot Springs. Surrounded by beautiful Alaskan scenery, immerse yourself in thermal pools of water that soothe sore muscles and aching backs. Enjoy several hours of free time at the rustic lodge resort. Hotel transport included.
What to Expect
On this rejuvenating day trip from Fairbanks, your senses will be reawakened by a day of rest and relaxation at the Chena River State Recreation Area. The day begins in Fairbanks, where you will be driven first to the Fairbanks Ice Museum, complete with an ice bar and chandeliers made entirely of ice! Here you will have a guided tour of the museum.

These are not your ordinary hot springs. The resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska, and you will be comforted to know that the area provides several alternative energy projects to those big oil pipelines you've seen sprawled out around the state. Let your worries slip away as you step into the warm and calming pools, which will sooth your body and soul with their powerful effects.

You'll have several hours to lounge and relax before returning to Fairbanks. If you're hungry, you can stop by the local restaurant. On your drive back, you may spot some moose, so keep your eyes peeled!
