Arctic Josh!
Sep 2021 • Couples
Our first time visiting Fairbanks and we had an amazing adventure! Led by our fearless tour guide Arctic Josh

Here are the highlights of our trip
-Josh led us on a hike to the top of a mountain.
-Josh showed us how to feed wild birds from the palm of our hands
-Josh took amazing photographs of us with the northern lights in the background

On top of all that Josh was very knowledgeable. He was courteous and understanding and catered to all of your needs. He thoroughly answered all the questions we had and even had great fishing tips for me and my wife!

Thinking of someday taking Josh up on the offer of learning how to live off the grid.

Will definitely be recommending this tour to any friends and family that will be visiting Fairbanks.

Amazing
Our guide and driver, Justin was knowledgeable and kind. He provided information and tales along the way. He even spotted a grizzly bear for us. A very keen eye! His driving was safe and courteous to other vehicles. The highlight was the quick and safe reaction to the most remarkable light show we had ever seen. I highly recommend this tour and Justin it he’s available.

Joshua is incredible!!!
Where do I start! We had little expectations from northern lights because it had been cloudy and raining all day. But joshua knew exactly the right spot for the viewing and was so patient for the clouds to clear so we could see the lights dancing in the sky! What an experience and what a great guide. He drove safely, kept sharing his incredible alaska stories and always had a smile on his face. Highly highly recommend 😊

Arctic Circle without the Northern Lights

It was very good except the weather was against us and we couldn’t see the Northern Lights. It ended up raining. The hot chocolate was awesome.

A great experience

This was great. Josh was our very qualified driver and guide. It is a long day, so be prepared. We stopped a few times along the way to the artic circle. I got to sled on the Yukon river. It was cold but beautiful. Plenty of space in the van. I liked that he wasn't in a rush to get us back. We had plenty of time to look for the northern lights.

Great tour and guide, but need better mask enforcement.
Mar 2021
The best thing about the tour, other than the scenery, was our guide. Joshua was upbeat, patient, accommodating, and very easy to interact with, despite the long drive. I would take a tour with Joshua again.

However, we had to double mask the whole time, since there was a group of 5 people in our group that never wore masks and they were walking around in the van. We chose your company because your website claims strict masking rules. The worry of COVID19 exposure did dampen our experience somewhat.

Loved the experience with Josh!

Everything about this tour was just perfect! The pickup, the drive - everything was smooth and very well explained by Josh. He was just so sweet, answered all our questions patiently! We had a small group of 8 in a Ford Transit van, and the van itself felt super safe in addition to Josh’s efficient driving. He chose 2-3 most gorgeous places to wait for the lights, we had a whole 360 degree view of the night sky full of stars!! Unfortunately we didn’t catch the lights, but no regrets. Josh is amazing and I highly, highly recommend this trip with him!

The magical snow-covered forest and Dave’s knowledge of Alaska.
There was amazing scenery on this tour, including a magical forest with trees heavily covered with snow. It was a fairyland! It was cold and snowing slightly, and Dave was a very careful and considerate driver. When he saw a woman in a rental car who was stuck in snow off the road, he made sure she got help from one of the 18-wheelers. I got to sit up front as a solo traveler, and really enjoyed being able to easily ask him many questions..which he answered with the mike so all could hear. All 7 passengers were ecstatic at the scenery each time we stopped...especially at the magic forest! I am fearful on snowy roads but felt totally safe with Dave, who’s been in Alaska for over 50 years. (He isn’t old...he just came as a child.). The folks on the reservation line were also very courteous and helpful. Due to strong cloud cover, we couldn’t see the Northern Lights. But not due to lack of trying and Dave’s expertise in finding them when they’re there.

Different kind of experience
Feb 2020
The trip was a one of the kind due to the van mechanical issues ( not the driver’s fault.). The van ride became quiet uncomfortable for most of us due to the cold/ subzero temperature. It was dark, snowing, and windy; Ice was formed on the windows. I don’t think I have such excellent iced road skill as Dave. Thank you Dave for brought all of us back to hotels safely.
On this trip, we DID get our sandwiches, water, and snacks, we DID get to visit Alaska pipeline, we DID drive on Delton highway, and also we DID get to the Arctic Circle sign. It’s a cloudy, and windy night, we DID NOT get to see the northern lights during this trip... but my friend and I did see the northern lights in the hotel that night eventually.
It was such a interesting day trip by itself, and I am happy that I joined this particular tour.
My friends and I booked few trips with this tour company, so far we loved all. ☺️

Beautiful drive and northern lights!
Feb 2020
I was a solo traveller in Fairbanks and took this tour to see the arctic scenery and catch the northern lights. Gary was great and let me sit up front with him since I was the only single traveler! He was a very safe driver on the snowy road, and a great conversationist with interesting life stories!

We stopped by the Yukon River Camp and had some great dinner and pie - after dessert we stepped out of the camp and saw the northern lights right then and there! Highly recommended - just know you're in for a long drive and enjoy the scenery as much as you can!
