Great introduction to New Orleans and its culture!
Mar 2020
We did this tour with Luke, he did a very engaging job of introducing the development of jazz while also mentioning second line parades and some current brass bands. We walked through Armstrong park and a short loop through Treme, which gave us ideas of places to return to in that neighborhood. This is not a technical music tour, it is more about the culture of the city, including the role of the African and West Indian people. The right mix of informative and fun!

Awesome tour
Our tour guide, Malika provided a wonderful tour. I booked the tour at the last minute since our plans for another tour fell through. I’m so happy we did this. My son is a bit of a music buff and we both found this tour to be informative and fun. We walked through Treme which we learned is America’s oldest black neighborhood and the birthplace of jazz. Our hotel is right across from the Armstrong park and we finally got a chance to walk through it as Malika gave us an overview of the city’s rich history. Fun fact: the laundromat next to our hotel was formerly a famous recording studio where famous musicians like Fats Domino, Little Richard, and Ray Charles once recorded sessions. We were blown away because I just thought it was a cute quirky laundromat we walked past each day during our trip. Definitely add this tour to your to-do list when visiting New Orleans.

This tour was one of the highlights of our time in New Orleans! We learned so much that we continued to talk about all we had heard for a few days still after the tour ended. Great information presented in a unique, fun, and deeply meaningful way. Our guide was wonderful and the two hours we had flew by. Highly recommend

Erin's the best!
Jan 2020
This tour was a really beautiful way to weave music and history by taking in the sights and sounds to better understand the history of music in NOLA. Erin was a fantastic tour guide, she was really knowledgeable, considerate and was able to tailor the tour to peoples' interests and she also gave me some great tips for the city as a native.

Miss Malika is indeed a master story teller. Her passion of New Orleans music and culture was so evident. She makes you want to research the people she talked about and download their music.

Best tour in NOLA
This tour was phenomenal! Erin was our tour guide. She knew about the music, the architecture and so much about the history of New Orleans. She was an amazing story teller. The hurricanes were also amazing and they’re BOGO all day—which is a plus! Overall we felt bummed afterwards that we didn’t book all our tours with this company. Definitely would recommend seeing all the tours they have before looking elsewhere!

Took the tour “Music of New Orleans: Listen and Learn” with Miss Erin and found the entire experience engaging and unique. As tour guides go, Erin breaks the mould. Her knowledge of the subject and her entertaining presentation of what could have easily been a dry lecture, made this tour the highlight of our time in NO. She is truly a master storyteller.
