Beautiful views and a mild tempered lake made for an excellent day. You will either be in a 2 or 3 person kayak depending on the size of your group. No solo kayaks (only the guides) which we thought we would be bummed by but you really couldn't be made surrounded by Chilkoot.

Really organized connection from our cruise ship to the ferry from Skagway to Haines where we were met by our guides Aly and Liz for an informative drive to Chilkoot Lake. They were both extremely helpful and fun. They outfitted us and helped the novice kayakers in our group

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour with Aly and Liz. They are both great guides with lots of unique experience in Alaskan living. I'm glad you mention the organized connection from your ship. It is important to us that guests arriving in Skagway know that we will make their connection between Haines and Skagway easy. We meet you just past the security checkpoint and escort you in our vehicle to the Fast Ferry dock. Once you arrive in Haines, our guide is there to meet you and take you on the tour. At the end of the trip, we escort you once again to the Fast Ferry dock. Upon arrival in Haines, your transport back to the cruise ship dock is included in the price of your ticket with us. So that is our goal, to get you away from the crowds of Skagway so that you can spend some quality time over in Haines. I'm also glad you mentioned that we helped the novice kayakers. Kayaking is fairly simple to learn and we teach hundreds of "first-timers" each year. Chilkoot Lake tends to be out of the wind and is drop-dead gorgeous, so it an amazing place to learn to kayak. We spend one and one half hours on the lake, which seems to be just the right amount of time for notices and experienced kayakers alike. We hope you return to Haines to join us on our Bald Eagle Float trip! Joe

My wife and I really enjoyed this excursion. It was a great way to get away from the tourist shops and crowds of Skagway and see some real beauty in a quiet and less frantic setting. Our guide Aly was professional and a pleasure to be around. There was very limited time in the

Thanks so much for your kind review. It really is a good idea to break away from the crowds of Skagway and come to Haines. For those who active, the kayak excursion is a good choice. You get away from the road and out on the lake where there is some beautiful country. Aly is a real pro- she not only knows the kayak and safety protocols but she is also an excellent naturalist with a degree in Anthropology! We hope you come back to see us again. Perhaps next time you can join us for a rafting trip out on the Chilkat River. Joe

Hi Britney, This sounds like a great trip. I don't recognize the names of any of these guide, so either this tour was with another company or the names of the guides are not correct. Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Joe

I highly recommend this if you want to do something active while still getting to enjoy the beauty of Alaska and learn about the area's natural and town history. We saw lush forestry, waterfalls falling down mountains and bald eagles in the trees. Our guides, Katy and Nick, were

This sounds like a trip with another company. These guides do not work for Rainbow Glacier Adventures. We offer small group tours with high quality guides. Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed Chlkoot Lake. It really is a fantastic location for kayaking. Joe
