Overview
See Victoria, British Columbia on a full-day trip from Seattle aboard the Victoria Clipper, a passenger-only ferry that follows a scenic route through the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands. In taking to water, you avoid the long drive to Canada and have time to explore Victoria’s historic downtown, harbor, and gardens before the return trip to Seattle, traveling on a boat with comfortable seats, a cafe, and duty-free shops.
Highlights
  • Visit Vancouver Island by ferry, bypassing the long overland trip
  • See wildlife on high-speed ferry between Seattle and Victoria
  • Cruise into the San Juan Islands and the Strait of Juan de Fuca
  • Passenger-only ferry with comforts such as seats, a cafe, and duty-free shop
  • Land right in Victoria’s Inner Harbor, walking distance from top sites
What to Expect
Make your way to Seattle’s Pier 69 for an early morning departure, bringing your US passport, passport card, enhanced driver’s license, or enhanced ID card for arrival in Canada. Settle into a comfortable seat, and enjoy views of the Puget Sound as you cruise to Vancouver Island, watching for whales, seals, and birds along the way. There’s a duty-free shop on board, as well as cafes and outdoor viewing decks. Upon arrival in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, set out for a day of exploring the historic city, the capital of British Columbia, on your own. You might browse downtown shops, visit the Empress Hotel for high tea, or make your way to the sprawling Butchart Gardens just outside of town. At the end of the day, return to the Inner Harbour for the trip back to Seattle, enjoying late evening light as you retrace a path through the San Juan Islands.

The ferry was efficiently run and very comfortable. You can upgrade to more specious seating but we didn't find that necessary. Plenty of seats with good views so don't worry.

Nice day trip, but too short to adequately even do a hop on hop off bus unless you never get off! We saw craigdarroch castle and ate in Chinatown. That's it. Needs to be. 2 hours longer in Victoria. Would need an overnight to see more. Would have loved to go to butchart gardens

As I write this we are freezing. This morn ih ng we were freezing. The return trip, still freezing. For the amount of money this day trip costs, you would think they had heat! We have on our sweaters, winter coats, scarves and gloves and we are sipping tea constantly. Frozen

Did the day trip. Long day but fun. Walked around the quaint town. Walked through a beautiful hotel. Also went to Royal BC museum which was very interesting. Missed having high tea. Check hours since season is down now.
