We were within a couple blocks of the business and easily walked, but we appreciated the ability to get picked up by the company had we been staying elsewhere. My mother Dorann made the reservation for her and me and found the process user-friendly and informative and also a good price for the included activities and amenities. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by all staff and introduced to our guide for the day, PJ. Since everyone expected had arrived, we left earlier than planned. En route, PJ made us aware of the available snacks and beverages included in our excursion. He didn't wait until we got to the actual Grand Canyon before making the experience as interesting as possible by explaining the various foliage, wildlife, and mountains and other noteworthy parts of the Arizona landscape as we traveled. We also learned about the various Native American tribes in and around the Grand Canyon. PJ was very personable and easy to talk to and answered all questions willingly and entertainingly. Once we got to the Canyon, we had several great photo opportunities and were able to view historical buildings nearby. PJ had a telescope with him that he set up at various locations to give all of us a sense of the vastness of the Canyon, such as the boats on the river and the people on the trails who could not be seen with the naked eye from the top of the South Rim. Lunch was amazing as well, and there was plenty of food. We were given ample opportunity to look around at each of the several stops we made on our journey. We both highly recommend this company and this tour guide and would definitely consider booking with Grand Canyon Adventures in the future.

As promised, Tour Guide P.J. picked us up at our hotel at the designated time. The van was comfortable enough. P.J. is extremely knowledgeable, having lived in the area for decades. He is very personable.
The picnic lunch was delicious. Just sandwiches but on home-made bread and very fresh ingredients, generous amounts of meat and cheese. The lunch also included yummy pasta salad and fresh fruit. There were snacks on board the bus as well as cold water.
Initially, I thought this tour was pricey but it is 8-hours in length. We covered a lot of territory and learned a lot. P.J. did a great job even though our group consisted of people with varying degrees of mobility.
If you can afford this tour, I highly recommend it. Why bother driving yourself when you can get a guided tour AND leave the driving (and parking) to someone else?

We signed up for a day tour of the Grand Canyon after talking to Drew of GCA about their tour and our own limitations (of the three of us, two are 73 years of age, with one limited as to mobility, requiring a cane, and our third member is a special needs adult son 31 years old.
Our tour guide, Chris, was incredibly personable and knowledgeable, and quickly won over our son (who told us before the tour he would rather stay at the hotel in Flagstaff than accompany us). Chris got our son's attention and showed him so much of the park's beauty and the "no two vantage points alike" aspect of the many stops we made. We had a wonderful picnic lunch with the other eight members of our group.
Chris took particular care to make sure the mother/grandmother of our three participants, who walks with a cane and had mobility limitations, was dropped off close to viewing overlooks and was included in telescopic views of Phantom Ranch and the Colorado River rapids.
At the end of the day, our son told us he had left several items in the GCA van that carried us through the tour. Drew and Chris located our son's item and assured that they were delivered to us at the hotel.
We will be recommending GCA to all our friends and family, and to whoever reads this review. What a wonderful day!

We had an incredible experience with Grand Canyon Adventures. We embarked on our 1-day tour of the Grand Canyon on Friday, June 11, with our guide, Scott. There were only 6 other tourists in our group, and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. Scott is knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and fun. On our ride from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon, he provided running commentary about what we were seeing out our window, and he was a wealth of knowledge about the Grand Canyon itself, including geography, geology, history, and the culture of indigenous peoples. He made multiple stops to show us the most breathtaking views of the canyon, and he would bring out his telescope and tripod and show us various points of interest (including the rapids on the Colorado River). He also he served us our catered lunch (excellent deli sandwiches with pasta salad and fruit) at a cool, shady spot. In the van he carried lots of snacks, soft drinks, and water. Our day was thoroughly enjoyable, and we highly recommend Grand Canyon Adventures to get the most out of your visit to the Grand Canyon.

As part of our honeymoon, we signed up for a day trip to the Grand Canyon with Grand Canyon Adventures. We ended up basically having a private tour with just me, my wife and our tour guide/driver Chad. Chad was great and very informative about the canyon and the history and geology of the area. The weather started out nice but gradually turned sour as the day progressed. Chad took us to several beautiful vantage points to see the canyon and told us about its history. As the weather turned and a blizzard set in, we began to head back to Flagstaff. Chad was a very safe driver and handled the heavy snow very well despite having to turn around on the mountain that had become impassible. We ended up doubling back and took the interstate to get back to Flagstaff in near white-out conditions at times. Chad was very professional and cool and even recommended a delicious Thai restaurant in Flagstaff! I would highly recommend Grand Canyon Adventures if you’re traveling through Northern Arizona.

My wife and I took your fantastic Grand Canyon tour from Flagstaff with 5 of our family members. Only one member of our group had been to the Canyon prior.
From the time we drove from Flagstaff our tour guy filled us with history of the area, the canyon and continued until we returned to Flagstaff. He was personal. Informative and extremely knowledgeable.
At each and every stop the Grand Canyon views were breathtaking and beyond words, It looked like a painting.
Prior to booking the tour we were thinking of taking the train but we are so lucky to have changed our minds and took the small group Grand Canyon day tour. We would have never seen nor learned as much by train.
We would highly recommend this wonderful tour.

I wanted to show the Grand Canyon to my best friend and decided to opt in for a tour. Drew, our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the site, geology in general and his knowledge on other national parks in the US that made us two nerds appreciate the tour ten times more. He was friendly, funny and loved talking for hours ans encouraged questions constantly so there was never a dull moment with Drew. I appreciated the amazing spots he introduced us to so that way we saw the Grand Canyon through his expert lens especially since he brought his own mini binoculars and telescope. That made a bug difference. The group became best friends by the end of our day trip as well. I do recommend taking such tours in April / May time frame before it gets too hot or October. Rafting in Grand Canyon is whole other trip that requires more preparation as well as hiking rim to rim. So, this tour is the perfect intro to Grand Canyon for any age group. We even had fluent free sandwich options. Thank you for a wonderful tour!

It was a fun day, filled with a lot of info but not too much. We had a scare of a thunder and lightning storm and our guide was very concerned for our safety. They packed a really great lunch.
Had plenty of water and snacks that was all included.
I would definitely recommend this tour company to any of my friends that want to tour the Grand Canyon. Plus it is a small business that I definitely support.
Way to do out standing customer service in society that seems to be lacking in that area now days.

This was an excellent experience. We had a small group of eight people. The two of us were picked up at a local hotel at the exact time stated! We traveled in a 15 passenger standup van that was very comfortable. Our guide, John, was outstanding. His knowledge and ability to take us to certain points gave us a great overview of the Grand Canyon. Our lunch consisted of freshly made sandwiches from a local deli. John had also brought along soft drinks, gatorade and water. There was also an abundant supply of snacks. I can’t think of anything that was missing from this trip!

This tour sounds great we want to book but are worried about plane cancellations restricted traveling because of the virus. What happens to our deposit our time is very limited in Flagstaff and we are afraid we will lose our deposit
We are staying at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn Flagstaff does the tour pick up there ? What approx is the temperature in Flagstaff in April/May we live in Massachusetts, this is our first trip ever in the Midwest and we are very nervous. We can't go on long tours so this one sounds great

My husband and I both have mobility issues, and we are not young either. (66 and 70) We did tire out; we did find some paths too dangerous-looking for us. But we were with a great group of people. The young family of four did all of the walking; my husband and I happily sat some things out. There were two other people on our tour; like us, they were not young but not quite as decrepit as us. They sat out a thing or two; not as many things as we did but a couple of things.

The tour shows the Tusayan Ruins as a stop, but the Grand Canyon shows them closed. Can you clarify what the stops will be? Thank you,

There really aren't any trails. The bus tends to park fairly close to the lookouts. Also, the company is very accommodating, so I would bet that they would be comfortable with you staying in the van at one lookout or another. But, I wouldn't call it super handicapped friendly - the paths are uneven and you do need to get in and out of the bus regularly.
Do I have to wear a face/breathing restricting mask. I do have a breathing problem and restricting my breathing causes me breathing difficulties. I do use face shields.
Hi. Do we have to depart and return to Flagstaff? If we stay closer to the South Rim, can we depart from there?

I’m pretty sure I was asked if I had dietary requests such as gluten free. I would call and ask if they’d pick you up. One of the guests in our van was at a VRB and they picked them up.
