We did the tour with a guide called Alex. He was very kind and gave us good explanations about the glacier and it’s formation and showed us awesome spots amd creavases.
We felt safe in every situation.

Good experience, better guide
Oct 2021 • Couples
The experience was really nice. You will need a guide to get into the glaciar but to be honest it was better than expected, the added value of the guide was totally worth it.
In our case, we were very lucky to have Alex as our guide. He is very friendly and he made the experience totally awesome !!

Our guide Alex is the best. He showed us the most amazing places in the glaciar and explained everything very well.
We were lucky because we were only three people in the group and we were able to walk a lot around the ice.
Better than expected.

Location wonderfu, Lucia is the best!
We went on a short simple hike up Vatnajökull glacier, this is not my first glacial hike and won't be my last.
I usually try stay away from guided tours as I feel like they are often rushed and impersonal.

I was lucky enough to have Lucia as our guide and she really made it feel like we were just a group of friends out for a hike together.

Out of this world experience
Oct 2021 • Couples
Took this tour a few days ago and it was amazing, the glaciar was out of this world and the ice cave was incredible. Our guide joao was extraordinary and knew everything there is to know about the glacier. It was an awesome experience and I would recommend it to everyone who is visiting Iceland.

Did this tour today and it was incredible. Marcelo (or Celo for short) was an awesome guide—funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. We felt safe in his hands and he made sure everyone had a great time.

Joao was an incredible guide and taught us about the geology of the glacier. Enjoyed this so much that we were a bit sad that we didn't do the longer hike!

It was ok.
Sep 2021
Alex was a nice guide and he showed us some cool stuff on the glacier. However, the hike itself didn't take the full three hours and we were a bit underwhelmed by what we did. Simply put: you walk from the parking lot to the glacier (20 mins.) you put on crampons, hike for about an hour over glacier ice + get a little bit of extra informatie, descend from glacier, take off crampons and walk back another 20 mins. to the parking lot. Nice hike if you don't have a lot of time in Iceland and do want to see a bit of the glacier.

Fun tour of the glacier
Sep 2021
What a fun excursion! Our guide was great but the views and experience were amazing. Definitely wear waterproof gear, and bring waterproof gloves and a knit hat. The only knock is that it did feel "gimmicky" like another reviewer mentioned. And your experience will be impacted by who else is on your tour. In our case, there was an older woman who struggled walking on the ice, and it slowed down the entire group.
