What a journey!
Took the train (tourists and locals on board) from Ella to Nuwara Eliya - reserved seats booked by our Tour Agency from Ella Excursions Tours. Amazing journey through delightful scenery up into the hills through tea plantation country. Great photo opportunities from the open windows or for the more adventurous from the open carriage doors! Saw Sri Lankan life carrying on as the train made its leisurely way through various villages/towns. A fabulous experience and a must-do when visiting Sri Lanka. Very cheap and highly recommended.

Great train tickets from Ella to Kandy

Thought we would try this for the peace of mind as was one of our must do,s
We got our 1st class train tickets the evening before and as it was independence day we had to get it from a station 40 minutes from our hotel. We were picked up in the morning and taken to the station free of charge.
We got everything we requested.
