What an excellent, interesting tour with our guide Beatrice. Enjoyed some tasty local food and learnt so much about the history, culture of Penang and its impact on the food styles and way of life today. Definitely recommend

An excellent day. Jeff was helpful in every way.. He explained historical and contemporary issues, taking us through theUNESCO world heritage area. Also a Malay kampong. From Penang hill station to the Golden temple, the university, finishing with a Chinese wharf. Travelled in air conditioned comfort

Organisation of the trip was through email and WhatsApp and meeting up with Lester was easy as he picked us up at our hotel. We had requested to visit Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple. Arrived at Penang Hill, parked up and caught the funicular train. Being a weekday, it was fairly quiet. Once up on the hill, Lester took lots of photos and shared his abundance of knowledge with us. From there, we drove to Kek Lok Si Temple Again, Lester was very knowledgeable, sharing information about the Buddhist religion and also the building of the temple. On travelling back into George Town, we had a chat about the local food which resulted in an impromptu stop at a local wet market to sample the local delicacies Lester was very enthusiastic, wanting us to try all his favourite dishes. What an experience! Loved every minute of it - thank you very much Lester!

Our guide was wonderful. The itinerary was well curated. We had a great 6 hours and felt much better informed about George Town after the tour. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately my stomach was totally full after station 2 of this lively food tour! My host James quickly switched to showing me some heritage sites instead before we ended the tour at station 5 with a very tasty local dessert ("Cendol"). James has many interesting stories to tell about Georgetown. Despite not being able to eat all the delicacies, I very much enjoyed the tour.

It was excellent, worth every rupee spent...the guide, Mr.Ang, gave us a tailor made tour based on our interest areas and took pains explaining at each location about the history, patiently answering all our queries. Thank you Mr.Ang!

Eng, our guide, was very personable, engaging, considerate and flexible. He interpreted our wishes and gave us exactly what we wanted - an in-depth local appreciation of Georgetown. He was respected and well-known to all at the major sites we visited. Would highly recommend Eng and this tour.

Amazing, definitely recommend! Our tour guide of Jason Lim. He was informative, really friendly. We spent all day with him finding out more about the island from the history to the culture to all the attactions. even some of the local food spots. We had a tour guide in Kuala Lumpur, I thought he was good until I met jason. he was another level. His tour will be the highlight of my trip is malaysia and singapore.

It was a really great and informative tour! Our tour guide Beatrice is very passionate and knowledgeable. I learn super a lot from the intensity of the culture mix and history of Penang heritage! It’s a tour truly wothwhile!

He Whatssap messaged me the pickup details the night before, he arrived early at our hotel and drove my dad and I to all the major spots around Penang that we wanted to see. He even took extra time to bring us to a fruit stand to try durian for the first time. Jeff was seemingly enthusiastic, quite knowledgeable and answered all of our questions throughout the tour. We think the purpose of the tour was carried out well for the price advertised. However, for reasons I will not share publicly on TripAdvisor, a problem came up with our guide that made the majority of time uncomfortable for me. I sent a direct email to Active Dynamics to share full details of the experience and management responded very professionally, and appropriately to my experience shared -- hence my updated review. Lastly, we wanted to tip him (for the extra time spent on the tour) and we gave Jeff USD. I recommend tipping in Ringgit if you're choosing to do so (we just didn't have enough ringgit at the time). Jeffery was our tour guide and was absolutely fantastic. Visited Batik Craft manufacturing, Entopia, Penang Hill Fenicular, Temples and Chew Jetty. The express pass at Penang Hill is a must as the crowds are huge. Jeffery made sure he took us to all of the great spots on the journey around the beautiful island.

A great introduction to the huge variety of food available in Penang from different nationalities and cultures combined with a walk through parts of the UNESCO listed George Town with the opportunity to learn a bit of local history and customs. Beatrice was an excellent host and guide, ensuring that no-one left any of the stops wanting more and the 3 hours flew by. We were a couple but would be great for families with school age kids. Even fussy eaters would find something to enjoy.

Spent the day with Eng our assigned Tour Guide. Was a great day, money well spent as we would not have got to all the places we visited in one day. Was great that it was flexible as we had already spent 1 whole day in Penang and had been to a few sights of interest, so we chose the places we couldn't get to by vehicle and walked to the ones ourselves that were close by. Highlight was Penang Hill. We caught the funicular which was a quick and exhilarating ride up and down. Eng suggested we pay a bit extra to get to the front of the queue which was great advice as there were queues of people waiting which I suspect would have been for quite some time. Eng was very knowledgeable on all aspects of Penang, history, political system etc etc whatever, he had answers to everything so hence we learnt a lot about Malaysia. Definitely recommend this package

This is an excellent tour. With James you’ll leave with much more than a full belly - this tour a wonderful mix of local food, history and culture delivered with much humour and entertaining stories from James. Don’t eat lunch!
