I love this part or "barrio" of Madrid. Nice, shops, restaurants, an all around very nice zone!!! Start at Plaza Colon and walk up to El Corte Ingles( super nice and very complete department store) and you will agree with me.

The Barrio de Salamanca is not so popular for tourists (so not so many people and not so crowded), it is a district of luxury brands, but it is not so sumptuous decorated. Most people on the street seem to be the local ones. It is a very nice place to walk and to have a drink.
