This monumental arch was built as a passageway between the monastery and adjoining school. The buildings were constructed to accommodate an increase in religious followers during the 17th century.

Good to visit when in Antigua but nothing too special. On a clear day you can get a good picture with the arch and vulcano.

This is a must-see icon of Antigua. Very easy to get to. Take pictures from both angles, but especially with Volcan de Agua in the background. There is also a great market just a few feet away from the arch. Great prices on various souvenirs!

This is a "must" photo shoot when going to Antigua. Nothing says Antigua like the arch. It is easy to find and right in the shopping district.

This iconic arch is worth visiting and snapping a photo on each side of it. The area around it has good restaurants and shops. A must see if you are in the area.

This is basically in the center of town so it is easy to see and with great interesting history. Lots of restaurants nearby if you want to include that in your visit.

The arch is a lot smaller than you'd think. But still super pretty! <3 Very busy street. Lots of tourists & photo shoots going on. I think it's prettier at night.

We did a city tour and our tour guide knew a lot. Still, I did not find this arch extremely special. It is part of a special city and the view around is very nice.

This must be the most photographed building in the city but it is picture perfect. Get there early on a Saturday or Sunday morning when the street is closed to vehicle traffic and the tourists and hawkers are still in bed and you will get...More

Nothing remarkable. Pretty colored arch spanning a street in the center of town. It's on the way to La Iglesias de Merced. Surrounded by shops and street traffic.

A few blocks from central plaza and very close to La Merced church. Very crowded most of the time . Best time to see it in the morning with less people and more likely to see the volcano at the backdrop.
