Set above Ampthill and flowing back into it at many points and linking with the Park Greensand ridge is a good for views of the surrounding area, a great place to get fresh air and to weave in and out of tree lined avenues that...More

I just did a short stretch of this walk from Lidlington to Ampthill. The walk comprised open country and woodland along well marked trails. The views across the Marston Vale were excellent and there are several pubs and eateries in Ampthill to add enjoyment to...More

Took the Ampthill to Woburn leg of this walk which is about 10 miles. Pretty well signposted apart from the trail going cold around Eversholt (check your maps, do your research, or just give up and go in the Green Man pub if it's a...More

We have walked part of the Greensand Ridge Walk many times. We enjoy the countryside very much. There are good pathways in our opinion.

The Greensand Ridge is stunning at all times of year - when the heather is in bloom and even in the snow. There are useful boards along the route describing the flora and fauna (including the deer). On a bright day families with children could...More

We parked at the Clophill end of the walk and noted the cafe in the entrance. There are many trails into the woods, some quite rural and would need a compass. Once into the walk the peaceful natural auras are evident.

A walk across Bedfordshire along the ridge. Superb views (for the south) and intriguing history. The dog loved it and plenty of 'watering holes' along the route if you do your homework.

The walk itself is a continuous line but there are nice walks in the area. What you can do is park in Ampthill pal and walk round there. If you want more of a walk than that you can go into Ampthill, past the church and over... More
