We have walked the whole length of the Greensand Ridge Walk as part of our preparation for the Coast to Coast. An easy walk with places to eat along the way, such as in Clophill, Maulden, Ampthill, Eversholt and Brickhill. As we live in a village on the walk we use it often. It varies with the seasons, always providing... More

The Greensand Ridge Walk is 40+ miles long, with Ampthill near the centre. It is mostly well signposted, though a large-scale map or guide is essential for those places where signposts are missing. It passes through varied countryside, mostly elevated, with lots of places of historical interest along the route. I live right alongside the path, near Ampthill, and have... More

We have walked part of the Greensand Ridge Walk many times. We enjoy the countryside very much. There are good pathways in our opinion.

The Greensand Ridge is stunning at all times of year - when the heather is in bloom and even in the snow. There are useful boards along the route describing the flora and fauna (including the deer). On a bright day families with children could take a picnic and enjoy a day in nature.

We parked at the Clophill end of the walk and noted the cafe in the entrance. There are many trails into the woods, some quite rural and would need a compass. Once into the walk the peaceful natural auras are evident.

A walk across Bedfordshire along the ridge. Superb views (for the south) and intriguing history. The dog loved it and plenty of 'watering holes' along the route if you do your homework.

Dispels the myth that Bedfordshire is flat and boring. A varied walk with some delightful views Woburn Abbey deer park, Ampthill Park and the Green Man pub in Eversholt, being three of the best bits

We regulary walk sections of this walk as alot of it is suitable for people of all walking abilities. There is a section near Woburn which can get pretty muddy at the beginning fo the year so just beware! My favourite bit is the beginning from Leighton Buzzard to Ridgemont (about 15 miles) btu can be done in a morning... More

I frequently walk sections of the Greensand Ridge Walk in the Ampthill and Millbrook area. It is not an easy walk as there are some sharp climbs and drops. Two highlights of this section are the view from Jackdaw Hill and the alpaca at Ossory farm.
