What lovely people at the Cooperage! Made us feel very welcome and our guide Ian was friendly and knowlegable. Would recommend visiting before you visit distilleries as it gives a great background into the importance of the barrells used and it's fantastic to see the...More

Here they repair and produce nearly 150,000 oak casks used by distilleries all around the world. A tour of this distillery in Scotland is a unique experience. They like to keep things personal so they limit each tour to a maximum of 8 people. Nestled...More

I went there a bit sceptical because I thought it was going to be a tour full of videos and displays. It was the opposite! There’s a video at the beginning that explains a bit what they do.. but the best part is after when...More

Hi Amanda Your review is such a compliment - thank you! What we offer here at the Cooperage is not a display or a show, it is a real time live working environment - it is the only way to showcase the craftmanship of coopering....More

This is the sort of place that proliferates where there is a well-established unique visitor region. It isn't really very interesting. A working cooperage that does an hour long tour which is informative but not particularly riveting. They are really only worth visiting if they...More

Speyside Cooperage, this is a must tour, if you are visiting Distillery's in the area. We had a lovely informative guide, that clearly loves his job, it only costs £3.50 for your 45 min tour, you see a short film presentation, the observation gallery seeing...More

We were sent here by the guides at the Glenfiddich Distillery. Few distillers have their own cooperage now and Speyside does special orders for many of them. We took the tour. Mainly it consists or a viewing platform overlooking the work floor where maybe 20...More

It was a very good experience because, the food was good, they have a excellent gift shop with a broad variety of things on offer. Not all of them to do with the cooperage it self.

This is a fascinating look at a completely different aspect of Scotch production. Even if you're not a Scotch fan, this is worth a stop. Watching the skilled craftsmen from above was a real treat.
