It's a small attraction in the middle of the city which has a lot of history. Go to the second story and speak to the attendant. He is helpful but speaks only mandarin and the local dialect. He is able to share the history and also point you to other attractions around the city. The rally helpful. Do take note... More

The jinxian gate tower is an interesting example of ancient chinese architecture, and stands lonesomely in the middle of a busy street. Worth a visit if you have a hour or so free, but not as spectacular as I'd hoped. Today only the gatehouse remains, the walls to either side were demolished a long time ago to make way for... More

Jinxian Gate one of the main attraction in Jieyang. It happens to be within the vicinity of Rongcheng district where my father came from and my great great grandparents family compound is still standing, that is the fortunate part but it is mostly abandoned and in disrepair as the younger generation move out to the city. I thought Jinxian Gate would be as grand as Guangji Gate which I saw in Chaozhou. However, it is just a small attraction in the middle of a busy road in Jieyang.
