This is one of the famous place for red leaves in the central part of Japan. It is close to Nagoya, driving is the best way to reach there.

We have visited Korankei by late November this year. As we arrived here early in the morning, there was not as crowded as we had seen at this spot years ago. The autumn tree leaves have turned into yellow, orange and red colours and it was really relaxed while strolling along the gorge. The traffic arrangements this year appeared to... More

Its been awhile! This time i starts from nagoya airport out on a rd trip. Korankei is my first stop and guess what! November 29th i reach this place and the foliage are magnificent! Cannot imagine winter or sakura season! Added on are the street food which is a big contribution! You get wild boar skewers! Knife cutting noodles! And... More

We were on a 1day tour from Yokoso Japan which took us to Korankei (highlight of the tour). We went on 23 Nov 2016 (Wed), and surprisingly the place was very crowded despite it being a week day. The colours of the tree were a riot of yellow, red, brown & green. Very very beautiful. We're very happy that we... More

Went on 15th of november. A lot of trees were coloured, Some still green. Was a weekday and we went early in the morning (arrived around 10.20 am with line 8 from higashiokazaki) no ques or traffic. Actually it was really easy getting there only time consuming. Departed around 1 pm again with line 8. Also no problem. Were back... More

since my first trip to Korankei last year was a failure, I came back this year. I was a bit early though as the leaves have just started to change. I came here early, took the bus at 10AM on a Monday. There aren't much tourist yet so I was able to appreciate it better. Had lunch on a nearby... More

Monday November 16 2015 - what a disappointment. Muted matte colors with leaves still green when they should be red, or trees barren of leaves way too early. Such a confusing 2015 koyo season; after 2014’s gorgeous colors we had hoped for better. What we saw at Korankai in November, in retrospect, served as a prologue to our entire 6... More

I was caught off guard with the traffic situation of this place as I have never experienced traffic in Japan in my previous 2 other visits. We took the Josui route (blue line) and waited for the bus, unfortunately the bus schedule isn't tourist friendly yet as there is no english version - it was just written on a piece... More

We visited this place during mid November. It was quite crowded on Sunday afternoon as every one moved here for beautiful falls foliage. There were ample of maple trees at this place, with a significant red colored bridge over the stream. Suitable for couples and family outing. There were lots of yummy Japanese street foods sold along the road too!

One of the best Autumn colours we saw on this trip despite of the dull day. The location is not readily accessible from Nagoya. It took two hours from Nagoya station, including one transfer from train to bus. We were told it is very popular over weekends and we avoided the weekend but the crowd was big enough.
