We went to this museum from Hiroshima by train, it's a good for a half-day trip. Not everything is in English, but there is enough to see. It's easy to find from the train station.

Very informative displays of naval and aviation artifacts, to include the Zero fighter plane and several versions of historical naval weapons.

The museum is well worth a visit - the 1/10 scale model of the Yamato is a huge centrepiece. (Apparently there is also a lot of internal detail, such as the engines, inside the superstructure and more, but it's not visible.) The other exhibits are...More

The museum provides another view of WWII. It shows technology and the sacrifice of Japanese at that time. The exhibition is quite complete. You can get an audio in English that explains each object as you move along. Opposite the museum, you can find a...More

Excellent WW2 museum. Although this is more of a Japanese Naval museum it covers a lot of WW2 history. The museum has English speaking guides and headsets (well recommended to do)

The whole well presented exhibition space is focussed on the scale model of the Yamato which was the most important vessel in the WW2 Japanese fleet. Lots of information in English but much more if you can understand Japanese.

Depends on how big your bag is. I wasn't looking for any bag drop offs/cloakrooms so really don't know.
Is it closed anywhere between 29th of December until 2nd of January (excluding 1st, which is a logical closing date)
