We were able to use our JR pass for this excursion to and from Miyajima. Great views of the Torii gate. Quick and scenic ride to and from Miyajima. There are other choices for ferry service as well, but this is a great choice.

There are two companies plying their ferries for the crossing. We took the other ferry to Miyajima Island and was heading to their gate on our return. Due to language resulting to poor understanding, we went to the machine to buy our tickets and it...More

This ferry goes very regularly and only takes 15 minutes to get to Miyajima Island. You can use your JR pass for this ferry. There is a non-JR operator that also goes to Miyajima Island, so if you're using your JR pass make sure you're...More

A great and very comfortable means to access the islands. The boats are clean and if you need assistance while on the boat the crew is great about helping you. I recommend.

We got off our cruise ship and walked a short distance to the ferry. It was very clean, not too noisy, and a quick ride to the Island. After our visit to the island, we took the ferry back.

This adds to the fun of getting to the island. As you arrive and depart you get a good view of the shrine for photo opportunities. It’s not a long journey across and was very efficient leaving and departing on time as you would expect.

This is a good little ferry that serves the island from the mainland. There appear to be two different ferry lines that do this trip.

No queues, straight on to the ferry & across to Miyajima Island. Beautiful views of the Torii as you approach the Island, really enjoyed a nice day out. The floating Shrine was one of my favourites

The ferry runs frequently. I didn't even bother checking or scheduling departure and arrival times and I had no issues whatsoever. It can get cold in winter, so try to find a place on the second floor to sit inside. However, if you want a...More

Nice short walk-on ferry ride to get you to Miyajima. Go to the upper deck, right side of ferry (looking at the island) for the best view of the Great Torii Gate as you arrive on the island.

Hiya, yes we bought a JR pass also. You can use it from the Airport and travel all the way to Osaka on it. You would also use it from Toyko to Odawarra, then you will need to buy a Hakone travel pass to get you up to... More
