Excellent Views When Clear

Recommend you take the Ropeway as early as possible to not only beat the crowds but to have the best chance of having clear skys for these amazing views.

This is the observation point just outside the top ropeway station. The views are almost as good as at the top of the mountain - industrial coastline on one side and islands on the other. It's surrounded by nice primevil forests and it should be nice and cool up top.

Looking at the greenery all around me on the way to the Shishiiwa station was so relaxing and cathartic, even. At the Shishiiwa observatory we had a good view of little islands surrounding the area, ships and oyster farms in the sea and of misty Mt Misen. My only regret is we didn’t go earlier to enjoy the views longer.... More

This is the top end of the Ropeway. You get a panoramic view of all the islands and the inland sea. WE were there on a sunny day, and the view is spectacular.

You can hike to this peak on Miyajima Island, or by cablecar if you only have limited time. The cablecar will bring us to Shishiiwa Peak where we can have great view of the city of Hiroshima and Pacific ocean. Hike a little bit more from Shishiiwa to visit several unique shrines at the top level of the mountain

Take the ropeway to the mountain's top station (at a rather expensive 18US$ per adult), to get some amazing views of the bay and of the Hiroshima region. It is absolutely essential you go up the ropeway only on a sunny and clear day, as otherwise, you'd be engulfed in a cloud.
