The street is beautiful and the food was delicious too. We ate the most amazing crab there. The highlight of Kinosaki is the many onsen that you can visit. Unfortunately I had a reaction to the water, so I could only visit one. I think it's important to note that if you have sensitive skin and it's not used to... More

We arrived on the day Kinosaki saw the most snowfall of the season (we were told by staff at our hotel), and got to enjoy its main street, with the river, bridges, and onsens covered in a 40cm white blanket. Very nice!

Dear Irina H, We appreciate your comment. We are very glad to know that you enjoyed your snow experience in Kinosaki Onsen. For sure, that timing was the best snow of the year. Very pretty town, with canal side walks, shops and restaurants, and Japanese and foreigners strolling the streets with some wearing Yakata and clogs. Plenty of eating options - especially fish, crab and prawns - as well as nice coffee shops.

I really enjoyed the beauty of this town, and how you were part of everyday life for the people here. Make sure you take a walk through the town at different times of the day, it is always changing. Great little coffee shops and tea houses as well as the hot springs. The wooden clogs can be difficult to negotiate,... More

Dear bjn888, Thank you very much for your kind words about Kinosaki Onsen. As you said, the town is charming by day, but very beautiful by night as well. Also, Kinosaki Onsen offers a great view throughout the year; cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks and green willows in summer, colored leaves in autumn, pure white snow in winter, etc. We... More

Walking the street in the day time, it doesn't feel very special, however the streets transform at night. Walking among other guests of ryokans visiting the next onsen. There's this different vibe going on. I really enjoyed having a night stroll through the Kinosakionsen streets.

Great street, lovely to meander down from Onsen to Onsen. It's picturesque with some great little bars and good restaurants too a bit off the strip!

We walked the Kinosaki onset walk during our trip to this onset paradise. If the weather is supporting, it's a magnificent outdoor experience!

For Europeans it was a wonderful experience to stroll through the village where everybody wears yukatas or kimonos. The entire village was full of the sounds of wooden sandals everybody is wearing - magical!

Dear Jos689, Thank you very much for your kind message about Kinosaki Onsen. We are glad to know you enjoyed yukata experience. In Kinosaki, each ryokan(=Japanese inn) provides yukata to their guests. For day trip visitors, yukata can be rented out at a shop. Also, colorful yukata can be bought as souvenirs.
