Being located in the centre of town, at the junction between the main road of where most of the shops are and the ryokans on the other side, and with the longest opening hours, this ryokan is certainly the most convenient.

This onsen isn't really worth visiting as a tourist, it's a very municipal affair clearly for the locals.More

Dear Chris_DJ_Bear_Acton, Thank you very much for your feedback. As you said, Jizo-yu is favored by the local inhabitants or tourists who wish to relax at a bath house that is less crowded. Also, the water here is said to protect children and families. If...More

That’s what the onsen brochure said. It is right at the end of main road from the train station. They have a nice Jizou (holy statue) at the entrance. A nice onsen on the 2nd floor. They open at 7 a.m. Closed on Fridays.

Dear DYA717, Thank you very much for your review and interest in the Jizou at the entrance. It protects children and families. Fun fact: the hexagonal windows of the building represent the basalt rocks at the nearby Genbudo Cave.

If you want to take a bath in Japanese style, Jizouyu is just that. There's nothing special about it. An obviously good thing is that it is located in the center of the town.
