There is no proper carpark at the entrance to trail of Onamino Pond. Don’t worry, you can still park at the loading bay, along side the road, right next to the entrance. Walking up 1.2 km to Onamino Pond could take an average person more...More

There are several trails in this plateau. It is not hard trekking, rather mild or middle level walking trekking road. I met a little boy around 7 or 8 years old who came with his grandpa. Since I was not quite aware of the time...More

If it is not cloudy, you are in for a nice surprise. Worth walking around the lake if you have time. There are plenty of volcanic rocks.

A warning to travelers as out of shape as my friends and I were - it could easily take over an hour of huffing and puffing to get to the top of the stony trail. The struggle is worth it - at the top you...More

I hiked Onami Pond in late February 2015. The trail from the small parking lot to the crater comprises mostly stone steps and would be manageable for hikers of all ages and abilities. The trail was clean and well-maintained. The pond is more like a...More
