The Yufuin area is quite beautiful. Lake Kinrin is surrounded by onsens, restaurants and shops. There can be hoards of tourists from China and Korea. It's a nice day trip from Fukuoka.

I went there with rain, if weather is good, taking photo must be better. However, with rain means not so much people, is also good to take good photo there!

The air is crisp and it is very peaceful to go early before the sunrise to take in the sights. Then wait for the sunrise.

If you come Yufuin and defiantly to go, from Main Street to stroll about 15-20mins, biking 7 mins. You can spend time to have a coffee at the cafe nearby to enjoy the view. It will make you feel peaceful.

Whether the scenery is nice depends largely on the season, the time and weather of the day. In my opinion, unless you got all of these factors working in your favour, this is only an ordinary lake. But mind you, there are lots of onsen...More
