I'm a potter who seeks anything pottery related on our travels. However, even for non-potters, just people interested in the country life and who have respect for art and culture, this is an absolute must. We went on a Wednesday and were able to see a craftsman working steel in the sword forge, as well as some other craftsmen working on metal work & engraving and blade sharpening. If you are at all interested in Japanese swords this is the place to be. We visited the museum and the token gallery. People are extremely friendly and very nice place to visit

If you are into the art behind the Japanese sword, then this is the place to go! There are displays of many art swords in the museum section, but definitely the workshops in the village are amazing. It was very interesting to learn about the making of Japanese swords. Fortunately we had a tour guide who was able to explain most things since the museum guide spoke very little English.
