Lovely little island, easily explored in a few hours either on foot or by bicycle. I did both. After walking around the main village, I decided to rent a bicycle to explore the more rural areas further afield. The main village is lined with narrow...More

We rented bicycles for the day for 1000 JPY and pedaled around the perimeter of the island. There's lots of side paths where you can tidepool or find a quiet place to eat your packed lunch. Bring lots of frozen water to keep you hydrated...More

Most tourist visit here for day trip, because you can see most tourist spots within two hours by riding bicycle. However I recommend you to stay here for over night. This whole island is big power spot and better spend time to look around.

Worth a day-trip from Naha. Due to a ban on development, most of it is unspoiled.. you can have whole beaches to yourself. The east side of the island is bordered by a coral reef, creating a very pleasant lagoon. There are bike rental shops...More
