Drive through Biwa Bridge is a good experience even though it charges every time you passed. It bridged two towns in between and saved many time for traveling around. The bridge was itself purposely built and a stunning architecture and logo for Lake Biwa. People used to fishing underneath the bridge area, boat cruising around took it a point of interest. A huge architectural success that bestowed by our ancestors.

It is a lovely bridge over a beautiful lake. We happened to cross on a beautiful day as well. As others mentioned, if you are in a car travelling at 60kph you can hear a song from your wheels on the road. How do they do that?? Bicycling is quite nice as well. Pay attention to the lake, though!

Walking or cycling over this bridge is the best way to experience the crossing. Best to cross on both sides of the road so as to appreciate the view. There is an observation platform mid-way across. Also listen-out for the music of the cars as they pass by.

Stayed at the Setre Hotel just by the bridge, highly recommend. Toll to cross but not expensive. Bridge hums a tune, listen for it.

It was interesting that if you keep the car's speed around 60km/h you hear the song of the lake Biwa.

My wife and I were on a Lakeside Driving Tour with BSC International Co. Ltd. By the time we reach Lake Biwa Bridge, the sun has set. However we managed to take some nice photos of the bridge. Thanks to the tour guide, Misako Deegan and the driver who tried very hard to deliver their best. They took us their despite having passed the agreed time of our tour by hours.
