Nice authentic place for the traveler.Love the ancient train and a big old station with a beautiful lawn.

Before visiting Izumo Taisha, we stopped by this old station- The Former Taisha Station. A popular tourist destination. Inside the station are historical photos, timetable schedules, mannequins wearing uniforms, ticket machines and old equipments. A steam locomotive stands outside.

Very nicely preserved and maintained. The city is taking good care of old station. The old engine is very elegantly placed .. good visit

This station was opened as the closest station to Izumo shrine in 1912, and closed in 1990 due to cut service on unpopular routes. It built at authentic Japanese style and made of wooden materials. It was designated as a cultural asset of national importance in 2004. I really loved its nostalgic atmosphere. I acted like a station staff at... More
