It is totally worth a visit to see the castle from below and to see the view from the castle itself. This is not a place to spend a day, it doesn't take long to see the grounds and the inside tour just OK.

Being in Stuttgart for only a few days, we weren't able to get to Neuschwanstein. This was a beautiful castle with magnificent views of the surrounding area. The walk up is a little steep, but there is also a bus to take you up if...More

The castle is impressive by its amazing geographical position and the quality of preservation. The interior can be seen by booking guided visits. A historical gem for those who want to find more about the Hohenzollern family.

What a great castle! Loads to explore and the guided tour was well worth it. We tagged along with a school class being shown around. The guide did the tour in German but our handbook in English explained it all anyway. Expect to spend between...More

Went early and felt like we were the only ones there. We were able to catch the English tour. The guide was friendly and very informative. Learned a lot about german/Prussian history. And it was beautiful. The parking lot was full when we left. Wished...More

This castle sits atop a hill with grand 360 degree views over the country side. The home of Prussian royalty going back 100's of years. We took the afternoon English tour which was very interesting and informative. Great castle with good feature rooms. You park...More

This castle was designed to be a monument to the Hohenzollern family and was not built to be lived in. With that said, it is an amazing display of historic importance for the region. This castle and family have ties to the castle in Sigmaringen...More

I took the train to Hechingen and then the scheduled bus from the station to the car park on the mountain. I was really interested to walk to the castle from the train station but now that I took the bus I am glad I...More

We toured on a day that they don't have guided tours and I would suggest this because all the rooms are open to the public. The castle is still used but they allow visitors to see many rooms. The paid parking drops you a 20...More

Truly beautiful, and worth the trip up. Trolley/busses are available both up and down the mountain, for a fee. The views from the castle are stunning. We did not go on a guided tour.

There are plenty of taxis available and I have seen many buses going to a from the attractions. If you do not see a taxi at the train station, look for flyer or advertisements for them. They are usually very easy to find.

We have spent quite a few winters and falls in Germany. We love it and are from Chicago. The attractions are not all open, but a lot of them are and are not as busy. That's one reason we love it so much.
