Beautiful place and picnic spot. You can see the western Ghats hills. Bird watching is good here as you can see many birds like peacock, cranes, kingfishers etc. Swimming is allowed on certain days. A good place for picnic and enjoy.

This lake is about 15kms from Dindigul. The drive is very pleasant, lot of greenery and you get to see glimpses of Tamil Nadu Village life.. The last 1 km. is a very rough ride with practically no road. The lake itself is a small calm one.visit it if you are the adventurous type and have free time in Dindigul.

It is a beautiful serene spot. Very picturesque and a great place to relax or even walk. It is a large lake fed by the rains. Regretted not taking a picnic basket.

Early morning or late afternoons are best for this walk; its a waterfowl paradise with kingfishers, herons, stalks, ibis, cormorants and ducks in abundance. The surrounding hills are majestic and there are coconut and mango plantations and several temples to visit.

The lake is dependent on the monsoon and beautiful when full. It's a quiet spot with lots of wildlife to look for, especially birds.

Calm and peaceful. Far from the hustle bustle. Plenty of bird and other wildlife. It is possible to walk around the lake and climb up to a temple by the shore.

Very beautiful peaceful lake. You can hike around the lake and also visit two kannimar temples (one in a coconut grove, the other at a idyllic junglee place). A guid has to show the way to the small kannimar, ask at Cardamon House. There is also a cave temple (40 min. walk up the hill, trail not good). And a... More

We hiked around the lake one day. The heat almost got us, so take a lot of water with you. The water is often not very high, but that doesn't bother the birds. You have a chance to spot so many different species here! Also, walking around the lake you will meet a lot of local goatherds and other friendly... More

Lakeside offers an amazingly beautiful place to stay, with very comfortable accommodation, excellent food, courteous and efficient staff, charming and helpful hosts, and very interesting surrounding countryside. It has the added advantage that the very high levels of cleanliness result in the food and water being totally safe (rarely the case in India) and the high quality swimming pool being... More
