Always a great day out

Amazing, lovely facilities, could do with a cheaper alternative to the café as it is very over priced. All great otherwise, lovely scenery & birds.

Awesome day out. Great size, location, plant life, lakes, wildlife, paths and visitor centre. You can spend hours walking round here. Some great photo opportunities. I highly recommend visiting this nature reserve.

Paid £3 for parking. After that it was free to walk round. Lovely resturant where we had cake and coffee and later returned to for lunch. Excellent service and food. Lovely surroundings. Walked for a good three hours and though the car park was busy we didn't feel that it was crowded.

Had a lovely walk, enjoyed the scenery and was impressed with the range of habitats attracting thousands of birds. Main paths are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, as well as walkers and cyclists. Nature Centre has good facilities, and the sit down for tea and cake finished off our visit perfectly. It was great to see people of all ages... More

Staying in Nottingham for few days with partners family and decided to go for a walk along the Big Track. Had no idea this place was en-route so it was a welcome sight when it hove into view. Great place to sit down outside as the weather was lovely and watch the wildlife. Coffee and cake reasonable, friendly staff but... More

Lovely place to walk and the cafe is reasonably priced with a good variety of simple snacks. Nice gift shop and parking is free or you can make a £3 donation. Not too crowded on the day we went, but if you don't like swans...

An early morning trip with the kids. This is a fabulous place with many walks to enjoy, views aplenty, lots of bird-life, trains, the river, visitors centre (albeit quite pricey) and very reasonable parking charges. Particularly enjoyable this time were the nesting Sand Martins visible from the hide behind the visitor's centre. And a lovely grey heron at the side... More

This Nature Centre and the surrounding reserve make a great place to view everything in the world of natural history. There are some good bird watching hides and the paths through the reserve make a lovely place just for a stroll. We spent an enjoyable afternoon just wandering around and enjoying nature at its best.

This is a fantastic nature center that the people of the area are lucky to have, great for bird or people watching or just strolling through the country side. The café looked reasonable but as we had just had lunch at the very good Corn Mill pub just down the way we did not partake. One point that slightly saddened... More

Thank you today for the signs of spring holiday club. My daughter had a fabulous time there. In particular the volunteers running the club today were great and informative in their knowledge; Ian, Irene, Ruth and Monique. We are coming back next week for the Egg Eggstravaganza. Looking forward to it.
